Today, we explore Sambil Mall , one of the most beautiful shopping destinations in the area, owned by Miguel Vargas.

From retail stores and banks to restaurants, family attractions, and entertainment, this mall was designed to bring everything together in one place. Children can enjoy the aquarium, families can spend the day shopping and dining, and visitors can experience the stadium and surrounding attractions.

🌱 The Future of Finca Cordero Cacao Estates 🇩🇴

Our family’s vision extends beyond farming. In Las Galeras, Dominican Republic, we are exploring the future of a major development opportunity across approximately 194,000 square meters of land, with the possibility of adding another 94,000 square meters from a neighboring property.

The vision includes a medical clinic, private villas, apartments, and a tourist hotel—creating a destination that can serve the community, welcome visitors, and generate opportunities for generations to come.

The land is currently valued at approximately $18 per square meter, with the potential to increase to $30 per square meter once development begins.

This is more than a real estate project. It is the next chapter of our family legacy—turning inherited land into a sustainable vision built around service, tourism, ownership, and generational growth.

The future of Finca Cordero is being planted today. 🤎

🌿 The Plantain Farm 🇩🇴

Today, my father takes me through Finca de Platanito, where our family has approximately sixty-five tareas of cacao land.

This property has been in our family for nearly fifty years. Some of the original cacao plants have grown old, so we are replacing them with new ones to keep the farm productive and prepare it for the generations ahead.

We also work in partnership with people who care for the land and manage the daily farming. In exchange for their labor, the harvest is divided fifty-fifty. Like any family business, the journey has not always been easy. There have been challenges, broken trust, and difficult moments—but our connection to this land remains deeply personal.

This finca carries our family’s history, sacrifice, and hope. We continue rebuilding, replanting, and protecting what our parents worked so hard to leave behind. 🤎🍫

🤎 The Family Business 🇩🇴

This farm is more than land—it is our family’s business and the legacy my parents left behind.

After my mother and father passed away, the farm was inherited by their twelve children. Together, we continue caring for the cacao trees, preserving the land, and honoring the sacrifices that made all of this possible.

As I walk the finca with my daughter Michelle, I share the story behind its size, the fruits that grow here—including our beloved castaña de masa—and our vision for the future.

One day, we hope to divide a portion of this property into lots so that each sibling will have the opportunity to build a home if they choose. In that way, future generations will always have a place to return to—a place where our family’s roots remain strong.

This is more than a farm. It is our heritage, our responsibility, and the Cordero family business that we are proud to preserve for generations to come. 🌱🍫

🌾🍫 Farming with Cacao and Rice 🇩🇴

Every crop needs something different from the land.

Cacao grows best with the right balance of shade and sunlight, so we carefully manage the surrounding trees to protect it while still allowing enough sun to reach the plants. Rice, on the other hand, thrives with open sunlight and plenty of water.

Understanding that balance is part of the wisdom passed down through generations of farmers. It is not only about planting—it is about knowing the land, respecting each crop, and giving it exactly what it needs to grow.

At Finca Cordero, we are cultivating cacao, rice, and a legacy rooted in knowledge, patience, and tradition. 🤎🌱

🤎 Tin y Negra: The Vision Behind the Farm 🇩🇴

My father’s cacao legacy began with a simple but powerful vision: plant cacao on clean land, care for it with intention, and never sell what the family worked so hard to build.

Through the good years and the difficult ones, the land remained ours. There were challenges with caretakers, production, and maintaining the finca, but the message never changed: protect the land and preserve the legacy.

Tin y Negra understood that this farm was more than property. It was security, sacrifice, history, and something meant to be passed down.

Today, we continue honoring that vision by caring for the land, strengthening the business, and preparing the next generation to carry it forward.

We may face challenges, but we do not abandon the legacy. 🌱🍫

🌿 Growing Up on the Farm 🇩🇴

Today, my father takes me deeper into the land where he grew up and shares the memories that still live here.

As a child, he crossed the river by canoe to reach the family home. These paths, the river, and the house were all part of everyday life—simple moments that became part of our family’s story.

This property has been passed down through generations. Over time, part of the land was sold to Papo and his son, who continue helping maintain and care for it today.

Walking this land with my father reminds me that every acre carries a memory, every path tells a story, and every generation leaves something behind.

🤎 The Godmother Walks Cordero Land 🇩🇴

Today, I walk the land my family has known for generations, tasting fresh cacao with my father and learning more about the traditions that shaped us.

He shows me how the cacao is harvested and opened, and we share the sweetness of eating it fresh straight from the pod. As we walk, he remembers making chocolate as a child, playing in the fields, and growing up surrounded by the land and the people he loved.

This moment is more than tasting cacao. It is history being passed from father to daughter, one story and one step at a time.

🌿 Stories on the Farm 🇩🇴

Today, my father shares the traditional process behind our organic cacao production.

From simple moments on the farm, like boiling eggs while passing the time, to the careful work of growing cacao without chemicals, every part of the process reflects patience, knowledge, and respect for the land.

He also explains how the cacao pods are prepared with a bag inside to preserve the natural liquid and maintain the proper weight before the cacao is sold.

These are the stories, traditions, and farming methods that have been passed down through generations—and they remain at the heart of Finca Cordero today. 🍫🤎
