“I kind of will explain it like wine.” 🍷🌵

Corina Burnett of Heaven Hill shares her secret for introducing guests to the world of Mezcal without overcomplicating it. 📈🦾 When a spirit feels “daunting,” the best thing you can do is find a common language.

Instead of a long lecture on production, Corina relates agave varietals to the wines guests already know and love—like Cabernet, Pinot Noir, or Chardonnay. By using familiar analogies, you disarm the guest and open the door for a real conversation about flavor and terroir.

At Cocktails With The Homies, we’re all about these “Open Source” training tips that make us more effective behind the bar. Shoutout to the team at Crafted Coupe (@craftedcoupe) for hosting us in North Park—the perfect spot to sit down and explore a new spirit. 🥃✨

My love for wine began 20 years ago when my Dad drove us to Chateauneuf-Du-Pape, France. 11 year old Corina would’ve never imagined getting to one day go to enjoy what would become her favorite wines in the whole world. Some people throughout your life influence you so much whether it’s personal, spiritual, career… I’m lucky enough to call one of those people my Dad, I love ya & merci pour tout ❤️

P.S. if you ever visit @chateaulanerthe ask for Alexis because he’s a wealth of knowledge about their incredible wines and the region itself!

One of my favorite spots back home @68degreesaustin best chicken parm in ATX! The trifecta is to add a nice little duck confit in there and crispy cesar as a starter.
