Northern California welcomed us with open arms. Everything is so much bigger out here. The landscapes, the trees, the cities, the community. Abundance flows freely in many ways. It was easy to feel grateful for so many friends and neighbors. I sought to soak up as many new places and people as possible during this time. I’ve never made more friends while traveling as I did in California, which made it all that much harder to leave.

Life feels different now. We are phasing out of nomadic life for a bit while we care for ourselves, get grounded in our roots, and make plans for our future. My heart aches every single day for my home on the road. For experiencing every possible person, place, tree, trail, farmers market, local coffee shop, new bug, weather change, and challenge along the way. I have so many feelings that are hard to put into words this time. Grief for the life i will be missing. Gratitude for the peace and stillness this new stability will bring. Joy in being around the loved ones I have felt so homesick for. I guess that’s the thing about living on the road. No matter where I go, I feel homesick for somewhere else. I leave a small piece of my heart in every place. I am so blessed to love and to miss so much. 2024 is my year of less resistance, so I’m just going to allow myself to feel all these things at once, knowing that there is no right or wrong place to be. I am here. If we have connected during my travels, know I carry you in my heart every day. You’ve made this the best few years of my life. I promise I’ll come back to visit soon🧡 #travelblog #nomad #california #gratitude #airstream by @cornbreadcourtney

To be transparent, my time in Charleston was challenging. I came to this place seeking community like I do everywhere I go, and it proved a challenge like I’ve never experienced. It’s a place where people live and think so differently than I often do. I had some bitter tastes in my mouth about it and got discouraged fairly quickly. Maybe my people just aren’t here. Not everywhere can feel like home, right? I guess so.

After being so discouraged to go outward into the community, I turned inward for solace. I poured my heart into my home, my art, and connecting with friends and family back at home. This felt like a bandaid solution to the circumstance around me, and I intended to feel lighter when I left South Carolina. That outlook sat so heavy on my heart. How could it be possible that I don’t connect with anyone here? How could I allow that feeling to make me resentful, reluctant, and void of gratitude? It just didn’t feel right.

We went to the beach at Folly with a coworker of Kyle’s and it seemed like everything started to change. We built a weekly routine of spending time with them. We got a shark tooth foraging masterclass from a great collector. We sipped drinks and laughed together and watched the rain pour down. We placed second in trivia two weeks in a row! While these aren’t particular accomplishments, they are signs of community. My heart breathed a sigh of relief. Our people are everywhere. I just can’t be so stubborn as to reject a place based on a few experiences. And now as we pack up the house again, I feel sad that I let my stubbornness and judgements about a place prevent me from loving these precious humans in person for longer.

I always try hard to be intentional in my reflection on my time spent in a place. Our lives move so quickly that at times it feels like I close so many chapters in just a year. Colorado only lasted 6 months, but it felt like a lifetime.
.
The time I had here was far from what I expected. I got to rekindle some of my oldest and most cherished friendships. We laughed and learned together and shared love that I've missed so much while traveling. There were new friends too. New loves blooming to the sound of Boulder Creek's babble. New smiles to never forget. Cherished memories and the hope that we will get to continue making them. I felt connected to other humans in ways I haven't in a long time.
.
I was able to cherish this place with my mother(both my birth mother and my spiritual mother earth). We picked flowers, waded in the creek, and stopped to look at every rock and tree, just like when I was little. A portal back in time, being held by these mothers around me, healing through nature.
.
This land carries magic, as all who live here know. Each soggy mushroom, quivering golden aspen, snow topped mountain, and tiny creature breathe together as one. We are all existing in love together here. Just walking each other home.
.
I will never forget this place, and I hope to be back soon. My heart flows like a river through Colorado 🧡🏔 Sitting in gratitude and just being is a joy and peace I wish for all of you. It sure is good to be alive.

Just a little throwback core memory🧡 head banging on the rail with these babes into eternity🥴🌌 by @cornbreadcourtney

As we prepare to move our lives to a new destination again, I am reflecting on my time in Florida. St Petersburg is a place of nostalgia for me. Memories of our wedding flood my mind every time I step onto the white sand. I feel so much gratitude for those times and those cherished memories.
.
I am grateful for the land here. The billowy sunsets, the crash of the waves, the stunning Spanish moss that covers the white oaks.
.
I am grateful for new friends and raw authentic experiences with other humans. For the wisdom I have gained from them. For the push they've given me to continue pursuing my truth.
.
Although this place is special to me, my spirit is called to dance away, yet again, to somewhere new. Cheers🧡

The feeling of being back at a fest after 2 years is indescribable. I cant adequately express the love I have for the humans in my fest crew. I'd never be the same without them. I'm so so grateful to be alive in this place with these people.

A slow full moon flow. I'm a bit out of practice and my LED is breaking (shorting out), but it always feels good to move my body. This is meditation🧡

But in the desert, in the pure clean atmosphere, in the silence – there you can find yourself.
.
Arizona has treated us so kindly. I have always been at peace in the desert. It has been a gift to spend such an exciting, transformative time in my life here. Expressing my gratitude is the least I can do in return.

Each year I gather with these people in this place and my soul is restored. I am so grateful for the opportunity to dance in the rain, bask in the sun, cook food over a fire for my friends, and create art together. There is nothing like the joy of chosen family.
