Others, for the entire experience.

Piedmont Driving Club was definitely both! 💚

Founded in 1887, PDC has a rich Atlanta history, while its Rees Jones-designed golf course opened in 2000. With nine holes playing along a beautiful lake, the layout offers plenty of strategic, risk-reward golf.

We played on a cloudy day with perfect temperatures. ☁️ The course was PURE...pristine conditions, beautiful greens, and hardly another golfer in sight. Almost felt like we had the entire place to ourselves!

From the locker room and practice range to our wonderful caddie and post-round meal, the attention to detail was exceptional. And those freshly baked crackers served at the restaurant? 😍 It's the little things!

The only surprise? No weekday breakfast available. 🌯

With more course improvements on the horizon, I'm curious to see how PDC continues to evolve.

An incredibly memorable private-club experience.

Grateful for the opportunity and hoping to return someday! ❤️⛳️

What’s makes @pineneedlesresort one of my favorites is the history throughout the entire course. You instantly step back in time when you arrive to the clubhouse and lodge. Glenwoodie Golf Club | Bye Week 2026

So this is what a $60 round of golf should be…3 hour pace, course in solid (not pristine) condition with some interesting greens and a grumpy starter at tee box 1. This 100 year old Muni has some great bones and a very fun routing. You know I’m a sucker for a bell after a blind tee shot. Glenwoodie delivers.

Last slide is in honor to the legendary Coach Mike Ditka - although I am not a Bears fan I am a Mustachioed Football Guy from Chicago and this one stings. Rest in Valhalla Coach 🙏🐻

The Quest for 1000: #813 and another crown Jewel in Norfolk. Founded 125 years ago and sits overlooking the Wash. The only west facing course on the east coast of the UK. Its ranked 29 in England and 65 in GBI after extensive renovations including the 1st 8th 10th and 18th. It was designed by George Fernie with updates along the way by James Braid and Ken Cotton. The famous 16th was the hole where in 1974 Bob Taylor made a hole in one 3 days in a row!!! taken in Hunstanton Golf Club by @balancedbygolf

[The] Lido - Nekoosa, WI

Sometimes life has a funny way of showcasing timing, and as intentional as I would like to say it was, posting the Lido on the day the US Mid-Am kicks off there, was only partially intentional. Also, shoutout to @golfbestball for the reminder - by throwing their post up earlier today!

The Lido is one of the coolest stories in golf. Originally designed by C.B. Macdonald & Seth Raynor (love me some MacRaynor) on Long Island, The Lido opened in 1917, transforming coastal marshland into a dramatic links landscape. It quickly earned a reputation as one of America’s great courses. Fast forward to 1942...the U.S. Navy acquired the property and the course was demolished, leaving no trace of golf behind. Luckily, its story never disappeared.

More than 80 years later, The Lido was resurrected at Sand Valley in Wisconsin. Tom Doak and Brian Schneider recreated the “lost masterpiece” using historical photographs, plans, and a detailed digital model. The [new] Lido [re-]opened in 2023 and is now a huge part of the Sand Valley golf experience.

Speaking of timing, I did intentionally schedule this round to fall on my birthday. I knew how heralded the course and experience would be, and to ring in 35 with a true bucket lister was the only way I wanted to celebrate another lap around the sun.

The Lido absolutely rocked. The design is so different from any of the other offerings at Sand Valley (which might be obvious, as it was designed for New York, while the other Sand Valley tracks were designed for Wisconsin...). Having a course of this pedigree at a property like Sand Valley makes visiting a no-brainer. I’ll leave out my detailed views of the course for now, as I would rather use my character count to educate more folks on the history of our beautiful game. taken in Lido Golf Club by @balancedbygolf
