✨Today marks a milestone I’ll never forget! My pinning ceremony 🤍🩺. This moment is more than just a symbol, it’s the beginning of my journey to serve, care, and make a difference in people’s lives. I couldn’t have done this without the strength, guidance, and grace of God 🙏🏽. Thank you to my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me along the way your love and encouragement carried me through every challenge. Here’s to the start of a new chapter in nursing! 💉💙 #NurseInTheMaking #PinningCeremony #Grateful by @craavee.marieee

My dream has ALWAYS been working in healthcare. Since I was a little girl I been said I wanted to be a nurse because I love helping others and with losing my mom my uncles and step father motivated me to continue on that path to finished school. Earlier this year I attended Chicago State and received all A’s at the end of the semester I QUIT my full time JOB to become a full time STUDENT. I started back doing security at the concerts in April turned out I started to feel like security is not for me I have to do something else. I was in the process of becoming a medical scribe at the same time but was ONE point away from the passing rate for the test. I felt defeated and started wondering maybe healthcare is not for me. I prayed to God asking him to align me with the path he has for me and open opportunities. I started seeing phlebotomy classes everywhere all over the internet ads kept popping up on my phone so I knew that had to be my sign. I signed up for this course and so happens to be it was the LAST DAY to registered. I was a bit nervous because I didn’t feel comfortable sticking other people with needles and wouldn’t know if I will have the capability to do so.

The first video is literally the SECOND day of the course and we were instructed to draw blood from each other. You can see my nerves was getting the best of me but still conquered it !!

The other videos were the last few days of the class and you can see my improvement! No shaking , no crossing over, no handing of the needle wrong and etc. My teacher told me that I was one of the best in class! S/O to my family and close friends who came and supported me on friends and family day and let me draw they blood because they did not trust me 😂 I love yall ❤️

I had to keep this journey a secret because once people know your business they will pray on your DOWNFALL! I THANK YOU GOD for blessing me with this experience and giving me the knowledge and wisdom to passed my exam on the FIRST TRY 🥹 I couldn’t had did without YOU!

First I want to say Med Surg is NOT easy when you use to a certain way of studying! I was comfortable studying 2-3 days before an exam and passing the first year of my nursing school experience but Med-Surg humbled me! Back in March I started Adult Health 1… I thought it was sweet because I didn’t pay attention when my professor said Med Surg will make you rethink your whole experience in Nursing School …. Well it did… I was distracted hanging out with friends, partying because I didn’t want to miss an event, procrastinating when I knew I should’ve been studying. I got to comfortable because I passed the 1st Exam and thought I could breeze through the session but my narrative changed. The first time ever in nursing school I failed my med cal exam “being comfortable”. “Got comfortable” passing my first exam and my national exam” to the point I felt like I had it in the bag with the last class exam and oh did god show me something different. I failed Adult Health 1 by 2%!!! I cried for 3 days after reviewing my score! I kept blaming myself for everything🫠 I told my friends and family I wanted to quit, that nursing wasn’t for me because I failed this class. I even look at other schools to transfer out to but they didn’t accept my nursing courses. After praying about it and talking to my cohort, I gained the courage to not give up and don’t let a failing grade define my intelligence. I was reminded my why and that’s why I pushed through. I retook the course in July going in the class scared, nervous , self doubting myself. I remember the first week I stayed after class with my Professor and cried telling her I don’t want to failed and wasn’t confident if I was going to pass this course or not. She reminded me that I am smart and can get through any obstacle. July was a tough month had a few falling outs had to remove myself from people who didn’t mean me no good and etc. I started to realize I had to change my ways: my study habits, prioritize my school over the fun, long sleepless nights, multiple tutor and study sessions you name it😭. I couldn’t make myself available no more. I passed ADH 1 and ADH 2 with the sacrifices I made. Highest praised to God🙏🏾💕🩺 by @craavee.marieee
