Some of my drypoint engravings available at @cranbrookartshow - PV tonight at 6pm. I’m thrilled to be part of this carefully curated, long-established show with so many talented artists. I hand colour my dry points and often add 24 carat gold leaf for that unbeatable glinty gleam 💛 #kentart #wildlifeart #drypoint #goldleafart #birdart by @cranbrookartshow

Introducing my Porcelain Dovecote. 'Hand thrown' on the wheel with sculptured fantail doves. Dad used to love his doves and often had them on the farm. My theme at Cranbrook art show this year is 'In the Orchard ' 5th-7th November @cranbrookartshow I think unlike other potters I tend to create a brand new collection of work for each individual Art show (short attention span probably!!!) So my work varies. I curate specifically a whole new body of work as I ponder for months before a show building up ideas and love the challenge, I guess it helps to broaden my abilities too. I'm in awe of production potters as thats another whole level of skill however this is definitely the largest porcelain pot I've ever thrown! My next show after this is for christmas wreath making called The big wreath make at @the_homegrown_market_ its botanical and for a mega collection of growers and makes 28th November so I'm super excited and have been busy curating porcelain white Christmas roses, plum hellebores, figs and pears to use on wreaths but vases and lots of gift ideas too specifically for the 28th at Ardingly Showground. Then its open studios! 5th and 6th December at my studio. 10-4pm. Hopefully meeting lots of you for mulled wine and mince pi by @cranbrookartshow

I’ve been up to my eyeballs in cardboard, frames and glass getting everything ready for @cranbrookartshow (private view this Wednesday). Here’s a preview of a new piece - watercolour, pen and 24 carat gold, 50x50cms framed. I seem to be obsessed with pink at the moment. #birdart #hoopoe #goldleafart #decorativeart #kentart by @cranbrookartshow
Getting ready for @cranbrookartshow, 5th-7th nov. Can't wait to open the kiln, fingers crossed it'll be hopefully exhibition quality as there was a power cut half way through the final firing, of course the kiln is opened just the day before setting up, not the best plan, I always aim to be more organised but ballancing everything isn't always possible and works been super busy. Have to wait to see the results. 😬 I'm creating mini installations of memories and 'stories' in old boxes and using old nostalgic garden tools for my garden bird sculptures. This work is curated and inspired particularly by my memories of orchards and corners found in an old garden shed! Creating ceramic horse chestnut leaves. It's great to work directly from the real thing. These pieces are intended to hang on the wall. Fabulous article in @ingenue.magazine out now. Thank you !! The Art of Giving As the chill of autumn creeps in and the long hot summer days begin to feel like a distant memory, thoughts turn from spending time outside to cosy nights in. Wintering, the act, or should I say Art, of slowing down and being more mindful; nurturing ourselves instead of rushing around thinking about the upcoming festive season. What better way to give yourself a nourishing experience than by spending a joyfully slow browse around The Cranbrook Art Show, enjoying all the delights it has to offer, in the peaceful setting of the Vestry Hall, Cranbrook. You are guaranteed a warm welcome, no matter what the weather is doing outside, and the beautiful listed Vestry Hall is filled with exceptional Art to enjoy, something for everyone. So, this year, the Art of giving might just be more about giving yourself an afternoon away from the hectic festive prep, and you never know, you might fall in love with a piece that will continue that feeling of calm long after the show is over.
