"When talking about soups, you can’t forget ramen. Its name is a variation of Mandarin meaning “pulled noodles” — and before it became associated with Japan, it actually was of Chinese origin! Oshima Ramen (1210 Dillingham Blvd. No. 21) is a local gem for flavorful ramen and friendly, attentive service. Broth include shoyu, miso, shio or curry. It also has a variety of specialty ramen like the black garlic ramen and the Oshima Tonkotsu Ramen." Click the #linkinbio to learn more. 🖊️: @allysonpang_ 📸: @akiralehuafitzgerald #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #ramen #oshimaramen #kalihi by @crave_hi
"What started as a family favorite has turned into a seafood lover’s dream on the North Shore. Founded by Emee Murphy in 2021, @ktown_seafoodboil began with a signature garlic butter sauce. After encouragement from loved ones, Murphy decided to share the flavorful creation with the community, starting with pop-ups, local markets and home pickup orders. Today, Kahuku Seafood Boil has found a permanent home in Kahuku. The food truck opened just a couple of months ago and is located across from Kahuku High School, near Kahuku Superette. The most popular option is the full seafood boil bag ($50), packed with a half-pound each of snow crab, shrimp, crawfish and mussels, along with locally grown Kahuku corn, potatoes and sausage. For a smaller feast, the half seafood boil bag ($30) offers the same delicious combination with a quarter-pound of each seafood selection." Click the #linkinbio to learn more. 🖊️: @casskineeats 📸: @ktown_seafoodboil #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #seafoodboil #kahuku #corn by @crave_hi
"It's apple season and here's a great way to capitalize on the bounty. In fact, you'll be doubling up on apples by using apple butter in place of dairy butter. Besides being vegan, many apple butters are made with warm, apple-pie spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, adding holiday appeal. This is a dense cake that will not rise much. Its chewy texture might remind you of a very firm mochi. The apple slices lined up across the cake give it true autumn appeal." Click the #linkinbio for Tzu Chi Hawaii's full recipe for Vegan Apple-Apple Loaf Cake. 🖊️ and 📸: Tzu Chi Hawaii #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #appleloafcake #tzuchihawaii #vegan by @crave_hi

"The best part of a bowl of pho has to be its rich broth. According to the Institute of Culinary Education, the classic pho broth was created during French colonial rule over Vietnam in the early 20th century when the French introduced beef into Vietnamese cooking. @chopstickandrice808 is the spot to be for pho. Pair the iconic broth and noodles with tofu, shrimp wonton, brisket, chicken or seafood." Click the #linkinbio to learn more. 🖊️ and 📸: @allysonpang_ #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #pho #chopstickandrice #noodles by @crave_hi
"I may have found my new favorite brunch spot. @thirtyeighthi recently rolled out its brunch menu, available 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. When we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive — even those who weren’t our server were friendly and accommodating, asking if we needed anything. The ambiance was comfortable and casual and Thirty Eight had the perfect music playlist. There was an open kitchen where we could see the chefs at work and the interior design incorporated sea-themed elements like sea glass lamps wrapped in fishing net. My bestie and I ordered Vietnamese iced coffees ($6), which we desperately needed. It tasted strong with a nice balance of sweetness — exactly how I like my coffee. It woke both of us up and was the perfect beginning to our meal. We started with the crispy tots ($15), which boasted soft scrambled eggs, garlic aioli, green onions and smoked trout roe. I had never tasted anything like this before and it was my favorite dish of the meal. The flavors were not overpowering and complemented each other. There was a nice juxtaposition from the gooeyness of the eggs, the crunch of the tots and the pop of the roe." Click the #linkinbio to learn more. 🖊️ and 📸: @jocethefoodboss #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #thirtyeightrestaurantandbar by @crave_hi
"@stripsteakhi is serving something new for diners at the bar. The restaurant’s Mina Meals is an elevated spin on fast-food favorites. The Chicken Nuggies are seasoned with lemon pepper, while the chicken katsu sandwich comes with miso mayo, tonkatsu sauce and ginger pickles. Each comes with a side of duck-fat fries and a mango lilikoi pie. The Wagyu & Whiskey pairings feature four wagyu dishes complemented by a whiskey." Click the #linkinbio to learn more. 🖊️ and 📸: @casskineeats #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #stripsteakwaikiki #chickennuggets #sandwich by @crave_hi
Food and restaurants always bring people together, but the way you feel after visiting is what keeps you coming back 🇮🇹🍝 At @littleitalyhi in Waikiki, you’re not just another diner, you’re family! From the moment you walk in, the team welcomes you with open arms, talking story and sharing laughs like you’ve known each other for years. It’s the kind of warmth and hospitality I imagine you’d find at a big Italian family gathering, where everyone has a seat at the table. And the food? Fresh, packed with flavor and leaving you craving your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal! Owner Fabrizio is at the heart of it all, making his way around the restaurant, serving guests and making everyone feel right at home. Some may recognize him from when he ran Mediterraneo on King Street. Parking in Waikiki might take a little patience, but trust me, once you experience Little Italy for yourself, you’ll find every reason to come back again and again. Because a memorable dining experience is about so much more than what’s on your plate🍷✨ #hawaii #hawaiifoodfinds #hawaiirestaurants #waikiki #italianfood by @crave_hi

"Before you complain about the too many pumpkin recipes during fall, I’ll have you know I make these cookies every year, which means they’re a tradition. And it is my birthday month, which means it’s my party and I’ll eat pumpkin until I’m sick of it if I want to. I’ve been moving for what feels like a month and a half now, and I will continue to say I’m moving until I figure out where to put all of this stuff. I’ve never moved into a bigger space and somehow been more lost about where it all came from. My dad likes to cite the law that stuff expands to fill the available space. I just didn’t expect it to happen as I was opening these moving boxes. One thing I’m for sure not imagining is that even though my kitchen is bigger, the fridge is smaller. I, behaving like a completely normal person, store all of my spices in the fridge. I wondered aloud, just trying out how it would land, if I should buy a second fridge for my spices. I mean, obviously, this second fridge would be smaller. Maybe." Click the #linkinbio to read Mariko Jackson’s full story. 🖊️ and 📸: Mariko Jackson #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #marikojackson #pumpkin #cookies by @crave_hi
"Oct. 1 is International Coffee Day, a celebration of one of the world’s most beloved beverages. Here in Hawaii, we are especially fortunate to have something truly special: Kona coffee. Grown in a small, distinctive region on the western slopes of Hawaii island, within the North and South Kona districts, it benefits from volcanic soil, sunny mornings, afternoon cloud cover and cool nights. But what really sets Kona apart is the human touch. Coffee cherries are hand-picked, with workers returning to the same trees throughout the season to select the ripest cherries. It is painstaking work, and one reason authentic Kona coffee costs more than commodity coffee. Take @alohastarkonacoffee, founded by Armando and Karina Rodriguez. What began with just 200 coffee trees in 2013 has grown to more than 10,000. Their family oversees nearly every step, from raising seedlings and hand-picking cherries to processing, roasting, packaging and shipping." Click the #linkinbio to read @chef.lillian.cumic's full story. 🖊️ and 📸: @lilliancumic #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #internationalcoffeeday #konacoffee #alohastar by @crave_hi
"With Halloween right around the corner, it’s time to start stocking your cauldrons for hungry trick-or-treaters. While you can always reach for the usual candies from the store, why not switch things up? From chocolate-covered macadamia nuts and individually wrapped cookies to li hing gummies, these businesses have plenty of goodies to help you become the ghostly favorite of the neighborhood. Find these products at select local grocery stores or visit the businesses directly to stock up before the spooky festivities begin. The shelves at @rainbowcrackseed are filled with colorful treats and local favorites. The shop offers prepackaged crack seed and candy options, including apple and watermelon slices, golden candy, gummy worms and chocolate sunflower seeds. Bring a little good fortune to your Halloween festivities with its golden luck candies, or take the sour route with strawberry sour belts." Click the #linkinbio to learn more. 🖊️ and 📸: @casskineeats #honolulu #hawaii #hinews #oahu #foodie #cravehi #hawaiifoodies #808 #halloween #chocolatecoveredmacadamianuts #lihinggummies by @crave_hi
