Did you know there’s only a handful of historical lighthouses left in Louisiana?

In our next CRCLecture series, meteorologist and historic preservationist Andy Tingler will explore the fascinating history behind the Sabine Pass Lighthouse, one of the last remaining historic lighthouses along Louisiana’s coast, and the ongoing efforts to preserve this iconic piece of our coastal heritage for future generations.

The event will be on November 10th from 6pm to 8pm at the Central School Arts and Humanities Center in Lake Charles!

Over 350 people. Countless ideas and innovations. And most importantly, connection.

Our inaugural Southwest Louisiana Coastal summit was a success, and we can’t thank those enough for the major help and support in putting this on! We hope those who attended learned that actions and discussions, are the most important when it comes to making real change and impact. Until next time! 🙏🌊 by @crcl1988

Let’s get our hands dirty! 🌊

On November 14th, we’ll be teaming up with @crcl1988 to plant some trees in Chalmette :)

The wetlands of coastal Louisiana have long sustained both people and wildlife by providing food, refuge, and habitat for coastal marine life, supporting the livelihoods and cultural traditions of coastal communities, and protecting shorelines from erosion and flooding. Yet these vital ecosystems are disappearing at an alarming rate. According to The Nature Conservancy, Louisiana loses an average of 25–30 square miles of coastal wetlands each year. Protecting coastal communities and the ecosystems they depend on requires ongoing restoration efforts to and strengthen their resilience for the future.

As part of EarthEcho’s 2026 Blue Carbon Ambassador program, EarthEcho is proud to partner with the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana and the Bayou Youth Leadership Project to support four Louisiana-based Ambassadors, Gabriel Barnett, Marlett Hernandez-Fitch, Marlys Hernandez-Fitch, and Natalie Morales, in leading restoration projects. We deeply appreciate our partners' investment in youth leadership and their dedication to building sustainable blue economy workforce pathways. Together, we're strengthening community resilience by supporting ongoing restoration initiatives while equipping young leaders with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to drive lasting community-based impact. by @crcl1988

Louisiana has lost about 2,000 square miles of coast in the past 50 years. Without action, we could lose another 2,000 in the next 50. So what are we doing about it? CRCL turns discarded oyster shells into living reefs that protect shoreline, improve water quality and restore habitat~ #coastalrestoration #landloss #louisiana by @crcl1988

5 days of work, 2500 plugs of marsh grass planted, and 170 tons of oyster shells put back in the water. 🌊🦪

Phase 2 of our Leeville Living Shoreline was a success and we couldn’t have done it without our AMAZING volunteers and partners!

This living shoreline will form a natural barrier to reduce erosion, absorb storm surge and provide habitat for wildlife. By investing in nature-based solutions like living shorelines, we slow land loss, protect communities and preserve Louisiana’s coast.🌱

Thank you to Leeville for having us💛 by @crcl1988

Lafourche Parish President Mitch Orgeron stopped by our Leeville Living Shoreline Installation where we are working to build storm protection with recycled oyster shell! 🦪 Thank you very much for supporting our work and coming down to visit!

We spent the day down in Leeville with @asics and @sneakerpolitics!

Some of these volunteers traveled from states away just to help us build this oyster reef, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the energy, enthusiasm, and commitment they brought. 👟🔥

Thanks so much for stepping up to help save our Louisiana coast! by @crcl1988

Louisiana’s losing a football field of land every 100 minutes! But we’re using recycled oyster shells to stop that! @crcl1988 The Coaliton to Restore Coastal Louisiana, needs volunteers to go make oyster reefs, this Friday & Saturday. They also need volunteers to help bring back our Swamp Forests. Sign up at CRCL .org by @crcl1988

trying to survive in Louisiana is tough 🥵☀️ @survivorcbs by @crcl1988

Last week, Phase Two of our Leeville Living Shoreline Installation was put on pause due to Hurricane Isaias. Well, now we’re heading back down to finish what we started! 🌊💙

THIS THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, our volunteers, CRCL staff, community members, and company partners will come together to give some love back to our coast.

This three-day event will be our LAST OYSTER REEF BUILD OF THE YEAR, so you won’t want to miss it🦪
