Have you ever been commanded to “just do it”?

How’d that feel?

Let me guess — not good.

When we close down, tense up, or shut down, we close off the exact parts of us that need tending. That’s why changing on demand doesn’t work.

But deep listening does.

Think of a time someone actually heard an emotional truth you were carrying. Did you tense up — or did you let go?

When we unstick our self-protective parts with real care, we get to let our desire out into the light.

We get to shine. ✨

That’s sustainable change.

Doubling down on “just do it” might get a job done.

It won’t change how you experience yourself.

Free, 90-minute live masterclass — Know Your Edge, Know Your Move — Wed, Oct 14, 12–1:30pm ET.

Not to command change.

To find the edge you’re stuck on, and meet yourself right there.

It’s complicated.

You feel the pull toward something new — like really feel it in your bones — and in the same moment, you feel yourself pull back from that edge.

Why do we get stuck in that particular place?

What I know is that stuck is energy. And when two true things are pulling at us without our full awareness, fear almost always wins.

Most of us were never taught how to move stuck energy.

Not just to move.

But to create, real, authentic and sustainable change.

Wednesday, I’m hosting a free 90-minute live masterclass — Know Your Edge, Know Your Move — where we’ll name what’s actually keeping you stuck (hint: it’s not all fear) and walk through the first small practice to move forward with courage.

Free · 90 minutes · Wed, Oct 14 · 12–1:30pm ET · replay included if you can’t make it live
Link in bio to register and >>> https://www.creativitymatterscoaching.com/know-your-edge

Ain't nothing like the real thing.

Authenticity is such a high value for the women in my orbit — especially my clients.

And yet we often operate from a part of us that isn't "true."

Do you know that experience? Saying yes when you wanted to say no.

Living adjacent to what's true for you creates a tricky kind of stuckness — one built from beliefs designed to keep you playing safe.

Most people live their whole lives this way.

But artists who want to grow will, at various times, come meet an edge.

At this edge, you'll notice friction. Restlessness. Frustration. Confusion.

Whatever's happening on the inside is a sign of something real.

And it's wonderful. And it's important. And it's critical to growing into a life that means something.

What's at the edge is a part of you that needs to be seen.

Locating your edge does three things:
1. It invites you to look at what's true for you now.
2. It shows you the way forward.
3. It brings you into alignment with who you're becoming.

Curious how you can find your edge and experience the real thing that's calling you forward?

Join me next week for a free masterclass on exactly this. I'll walk you through my Four Edges of Creative Growth framework — link in bio to register.

Being in a stuck place doesn't mean you're lost, or that there's something wrong with you.

The Four Edges of Creative Growth is the framework I created to show you the most common places where creative growth stalls — and what you need to know to move beyond where you are right now.

🤔 Maybe you bring your old assumptions about yourself, or other people, into awareness — so you can decide for yourself what's true for you now.

🤔 Maybe you design an action plan of tiny experiments, instead of imagining big leaps, to get the results you want.

🤔 Maybe giving voice to what you want to create is the pathway to the visibility, collaboration, and success you truly desire.

🤔 Or maybe you need to do the reps — to practice what you learn from the edge often enough to embody the strengths you've earned and the values you stand for.

Wherever you locate yourself at the edge, Know Your Edge, Know Your Move will match you with a skill to practice — so you can transform your stuck energy into focused action that feels alive.

Right now you may be stuck.

But what if you knew that feeling stuck isn't a problem to solve. It's a place. And it has instructions for you.
If you've been on the verge of making a change, taking a specific action, or making a commitment to your future — but you haven't yet — you're in a stuck place.

What scares you can feel like a force, pushing hard to keep you safe on an edge that feels familiar, while your creative desire pulls you forward toward uncertainty — to take risks, to experiment, to play, to create something new.
Are you exhausted from . . .

👉🏼 Hovering around an idea, change, or possibility instead of going for it
👉🏼 Waiting to be certain about what will happen before you take a risk
👉🏼 Second-guessing yourself at every turn, thinking you don't have enough talent, time, or money to make a move right now
👉🏼 Worrying that everyone has more than you do, or that you've missed the boat
Knowing your specific edge will reveal your way forward.
