JUAN BRENNER X CREATURA In FERVOR, Guatemalan photographer @juan_brenner photographs the church of San Andrés Xecul, known for its vivid, richly coloured façade and its place in Guatemala’s cultural imagination. Beyond its striking appearance, the church reveals a deeper story of cultural syncretism: the meeting and coexistence of Indigenous Maya cosmologies and Catholic traditions. Its architecture becomes a reflection of the multiple influences, beliefs and histories that continue to shape Guatemalan identity. This photograph is available as a limited-edition print through the pre-order of Creatura N°2. Print size: 76.2 × 95.25 cm (30 × 37.5 in). JUAN BRENNER X CREATURA In this photograph from FERVOR, Guatemalan photographer @juan_brenner captures a person wearing a mask representing San Simón (Maximón), the central figure of his project. On Good Friday, San Simón’s representation overlaps with that of Judas Iscariot, the figure who betrays Jesus. This blending of identities reflects the complex syncretism that shapes local religious practices. During the ritual, the masked figure takes to the streets carrying quince branches, whipping others as they strike back; some people even pay to fight him. Violence, faith, sin and purification become intertwined in a striking public performance. Through these rituals, Brenner explores the tensions and contradictions that emerge where Indigenous Maya traditions, Catholicism and everyday life meet. This photograph is available as a limited-edition print through the pre-order of Creatura N°2. Print size: 76.2 × 95.25 cm (30 × 37.5 in). JUAN BRENNER X CREATURA In FERVOR, Guatemalan photographer @juan_brenner explores the rituals and beliefs surrounding San Simón (Maximón), a popular folk saint in the western highlands of Guatemala. Honeycomb is among the offerings made to San Simón. While some believe he favours liquor or money, sugar is said to be one of his greatest pleasures. Honeycomb, an expensive offering, becomes a small luxury presented to the saint. A glimpse into the rituals, gestures and beliefs that shape FERVOR, Juan Brenner’s photographic exploration of devotion, desire and cultural syncretism. This photograph is available as a limited-edition print through the pre-order of Creatura N°2. Print size: 76.2 × 95.25 cm (30 × 37.5 in). In Los diablos también aman, Lima-based photographer @ploploplonz turns to the figure of the devil to explore intimacy and the ways bodies are looked at and reclaimed. It was conceived collectively by him and the people he portrays, Afro-Peruvian activists and friends @osirisodhalys and @axell.preciado With roots in colonial Corpus Christi celebrations, the figure of the devil is historically used within Christian iconography to embody evil. Over time, Afro-Peruvian communities appropriated the figure, transforming it into a form of cultural expression and resistance. Here, the mask becomes more than a disguise. It offers another body to inhabit, a way of stepping outside the gaze that has historically associated certain identities, and ways of living with the marginal or the negative. “I like taking photographs so I’ll have something fun to look at when I’m old,” Andrés Ríos ( @__andresrios ) tells us while sharing what his project Por favor, no te vayas is about. Centered around his friends and his hometown of Bogotá - a place where, as he puts it, leaving can often feel like the natural thing to do, but where the people, streets, homes, and moments that make up everyday life can also give us reasons to stay - Por favor, no te vayas becomes the artist’s way of holding on to this particular stage of his life. His series captures the complicated feeling of wanting to leave while still finding reasons to stay.

Through a series of intimate portraits, the work captures individuals living between cultures, carrying stories shaped by migration, memory, and everyday life. Born in or connected to Latin America, each subject maintains a strong sense of identity that transcends geography. The series embraces themes of cultural maximalism, paying homage to the vibrancy, richness, and emotional intensity rooted in Latin American heritage. Styling explores the presence and inheritance of this identity. This series captures these in-between spaces, where belonging is both questioned and continuously redefined.
