13!!! 13?! How are you a teenager! Happy birthday to my sweet, sweet boy, who still asked last night for the story of the day he was born. It was a perfectly lovely fall day, and I wish that for you today. Love you to the moon and back! by @cristina_mac23

Meet Me Monday! Come cozy up and get to know me!

I’m Cristina McAllister and I’m happy to have you here in this little square space! Thank you for joining me!
I’m a Drama and English Teacher for 21 years, and a Visual and Performing Arts Department Head.
I’m a new children’s author with my picture book When My Bottle Gets Too Full- Understanding Our Really Big Feelings. Available at @indigo @amazonca @vankidsbooks @irondogbooks @companion_bookstore And I love going into classrooms for group readings!
I love this season for the cozy vibes and that magical fall smell outside.
I’m a tea drinker and love a good Chai Latte with oat milk.
I’m a mama of 2 and a dog, but a Drama Mama to many. I call them all my kids and my babies, and if I inspire 1, I’ve done my job.
I am volunteering with the @northbnh and their annual Gala. Let’s go, Burnaby! I try to give back as much as I can.
I prefer gloss over lipstick, although I’ve tried to go back to my 90’s roots. Anyone else remember Toast of New York?!!

Welcome!!! Tell me your favorite part of this season! by @cristina_mac23

Your soul definitely “gained more than your hands”. It overflowed. It ran over. It filled ours.
We will forever try to remind ourselves it’s what we “come home to that matters”. I will see you in that forever place.

And class of ‘98…today was the reunion I didn’t know we needed. Darren brought us together. To hug you today was magic. Let’s see each other again before the 30. Let’s make the moments count. Let’s fill our souls. by @cristina_mac23

Time, you are a fickle thief. There was meant to be more. You ticked too quickly, and with those tick-tick-ticks, you took him.
For me, he was that person. That person who was your marriage contract on that BahaRosa summer day: “If we’re not married by 25, it’s us!” The one who taught you to burp, and never let you hear the end of it when you fell asleep in the first 10 minutes of the movie. The one who made you laugh non-stop and caught you under “G” for gullible in every text message. “Back in the 1800’s…” were his best stories, and made him the best teacher out there- How blessed are the kids he taught. The ride or die, house-sitting partner who’d put you to bed and take care of you. The amazing husband and father who picked fresh flowers every Mother’s Day, but would scold me every time I bought them and brought them over. The guy who’d swoon for a great beer tasting and could perfectly smoke anything while entertaining us around the table.

I know you are without pain, but I am lesser without you. I love that we sang together one last time in your hospital bed. “Song for the Mira” forever. I love that you are running with Stomper. I love you. Here’s to those country roads, Dar. Rest peacefully, my love. #timeisathief by @cristina_mac23
