So whilst most other people are being influenced to go to a Swedish shop@to buy some mass produced shit and then visit Amazon to buy some plug in mass produced plastic shit, I’ve found a perfectly good old light locally.

For the price of less than a coffee or one of those weird green witch drinks made with a broom I’ve got a light

Yes it’s dirtier than a sex show in Holland but I’ll clean it

I’ll sort you my light friend and will probably sell it soon

I know colour scares me. This is just a joke

Are you like me? A neutral lover?

I love calm its good for my head.

And I have several @pigletinbed cushions I love.

Your house your rules. But yes I wish I had more colour… but my piglet linen cushions and my new sofa Maker and sons = peace and calm.

It’s fair to say I struggle with my mind

I often feel like a failure for those who passed whilst I tried to save them

I was lost. I lost who I was. I wasn’t able to talk. It was frowned upon talking about what was eating at me. No time to process.

I focussed on my house. Tried to lock myself away from the real world. Scared of the shit outside and also memories of local areas that opened up a portal to the memories of shit that ate me

My home is my calm place albeit my minds not. Always dashing around mentally seeing everyone outside watching analysing, hyper vigilant it’s exhausting.

Yes I make silly videos. Yes I swear. But it’s just a way of trying to take my mind off shit that comes in.

Social media doesn’t help. Too much fake shit

Creativity is therapy. It’s cheaper.

Moral is be kind. It’s ok to talk. It’s ok to be not ok and I’m only posting this to say it’s ok to be not ok.

It really upsets me how we dispose of items so easily, and some items are just bought and thrown away.

Most things in my house are made or bought 2nd hand

Many older things too are made to a much higher quality too

So if you can help the planet by buying used and not mass produced crap

It’s true though.

I’ve always wanted a posh Maker and sons sofa. I couldn’t ever afford a new one sadly

Seriously is the most comfortable sofa I’ve ever put my bum on
So found one on @ebay_uk for a lot less

6 hour drive

Early start

But happy I’ve created a third bedroom! 😂

Picture window = nice views, watching the world go by. Also pigeons flying into it.

Why do I have so many old lights?

Simple I liked gremlins as a kid and Gizmo was anti bright lights.

Fuck these Ikea hacks shoving a rechargeable light in a glass ball that has already got a bulb and being a wasteful messy human.

Get an old light

Be kind to gizmo

Bin the big light

Gizmo and chill

Old model 90 @anglepoise

Old pendant now a floor light

Old table lamp behind a chair off @ebay_uk

I like light. I like lights. I have a long one.

A kitchen. Behave.

Yes I have 5 lights on the counter top.

Why? Dunno. But I do love how they soften the room.

My kitchen has been refreshed in @devolkitchens furniture paint ( they are local always worth a visit ) as it was solid oak. I changed the counter tops to quartz too.

But I must admit I love the light off the LEGO head.

Best bit is moveable lights. They offer softness and character.

Egg sign off @ebay_uk

Try it.

I have a landing that’s 20ft high. Weird for a cottage but Hej I’m weird too.

Monsteras like to climb in their natural habitat. So I made a basic oak frame for it to climb about 6 weeks ago

It’s under a north facing small Velux. I felt it needed a little help so I added two @growgang.store bulbs in old enamel shades from @curiousmagpiestyle

The oak was from @belvoirsawmill

The plant was locally found on @ebay_uk

It’s fair to say it’s rather happy and has Urm grown a lot!

I never appreciated how much plants can change a space. Go get one!

I often have brain farts. Do you too?

I live in an old cottage.

It’s hard getting natural daylight in my house.

My brain said “you should make a really large Window “

Then my brain said “start smashing the wall down “

So guess what I did, and a few weeks later a friend made me a Window, rather large Window.

It’s fair to say it’s giving me the Light that I needed, hopefully the neighbours don’t mind see me walking around in my pants.

It was easy enough I cut the wall with a stihl saw as the existing window had a lintel already.

This has given me an amazing new picture window that I love

What do you think? Let me know

You know when you’ve looked at so many paint samples you remember pointless names. Well yes I remember Stiffkey being a @farrowandball paint colour when looking at paint in @ashbydecoratorcentre_

Part of me is annoyed as I can’t remember yesterday but I can a paint name!

Might have to add this colour to my house now
