![What do you do when you want grad pictures to honor and immortalize your true highschool-graduate self without immortalizing your untrue self in the white female cap&gown in the process? Steal your partner's brother's old cap&gown and have your partner take pictures of you with their low-quality camera, of course! 🎓🌳🌌
Whenever people ask "So, how do you feel?" or "You excited to get out?", believing that I could so simply sum up the last four school years of my life, in that they were more so years of my life i fought with every inch of my heart, mind, body, and soul to Keep Fighting And Living... I truly can only respond with "i dont know". Its extremely difficult for me to celebrate my accomplishments and milestones, let alone acknowledge them as something of mine to have and deserve. The people ive met in the past four years, though, remind me that my efforts (and sometimes pure spite, or an inability to do anything else) are worthy, and that ive always been worthy of the support, company, companionship, care, patience, humor, honesty, and Love that ive always had neglected from/held against/never been given to me. There is simply Too Much to answer; too much agony, too much hopelessness, too much derealization/depersonalization, too much hypocrisy, too much confusion, too many untaught and unfulfilling lessons, too many "only [] more years until i can escape" ... but there is just enough hope and companionship, just enough "i love you man; im gonna miss you; i cant imagine theater/band/school without you; you gave me a safe space; you taught me how to be myself" messages, and just enough of a Promise for true freedom/autonomy/peace/self-expression/unconditional love... to Keep Going.
Keep Going. I surely dont always want to... but something, Any Thing, even the inability to do something, will serve as a message, a milestone, an indeterminate force to carry you from one day to the next, however unaware you may feel of said things or passing days. You Are You, and deserve to be you 💙
