Vinyl isn’t just about the sound, it’s about developing your skills, trusting your ears, and truly understanding the craft of DJing.

Last week marks an important experience in my DJ career

On Saturday i had to play an emergency unplanned/ unexpected set due the resident DJ that day was not feeling well, Ended up playing 4 hours.

Sunday were it was my slot, played 5 hours set.

The challenge here was not about how many hours, it was about the genres that I played, I came from electronic dance music background (House/Techno/Trance) yet I forced myself to step out of my comfort zone and play (open-format) Pop, Hiphop, R&B, Arabic, Amapiano, Reagatone, Electronic Etc..

This by far will be the most skilled performance and experience I did and i am glad it went great and hoping for more, and huge respect for open-format DJs, cause in my opinion they are the most skilled DJs out there.

And big thanks for my brother @yamen_abu_manssour for his support and aid, one of the skilled open-format DJs out there. by @cue_ah

In 2011, I started to listen to Dance Music, specifically Trance, Paul Van Dyk who introduced me to this genre, since then I started Djing and my love with trance and progressive, and I said one day i want to start collecting vinyl and play Trance/Progressive on Vinyl just like old trance artists, and now this is baby steps, here we are ♾️❤️🎶

After i got my hands on vinyl records (not DVS) I understand why some vinyl djs emphasize on playing actual records and not going to Digital.

With Vinyl, you have to beatmatch by ear, find the tirst beat (cue) and adjust the needle to beginning of the record (manual cue)

No waveforms, No screens, just your ears and the music, the connection between you and the music is deeper, more as physical touch
