💀Artist Announcement 💀

Curt is awesome. He is recognized for his fresh and innovative take on a classic American comedy tradition. With an impressive resume including television, shows for top corporations, juggling on Broadway in New York City and performing his one man comedy show on cruise ships around the world. While his early shows took place in coffeeshops and streetcorners along the Pacific Northwest, his resume now includes performances for a dozen Fortune 500 companies, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the New Victory Theatre on Broadway in New York City, as well as colleges and universities across North America.

Curtis also holds a Guinness world record for the yoyo, has won a bronze medal at the International Jugglers’ Association stage championships, and has shared the stage with entertainment titans like the Beastie Boys, Peter Sagal, and Second City Improv – just to name a few.

Have you met Curtis? @curtshow is a juggling teacher & performer extraordinaire. Catch him at Portland Jugglers night here at JaJa Circus, Tuesday nights from 7-11pm. Share your talents, or just enjoy the talent! We are all learning. Come juggle with us.

More about Curtis:
Curtis Carlyle was born in 1980 in a lighthouse in Rhode Island. His father was a United States Coast Guard engineer and his mother was a championship rodeo horsewoman. Although he didn’t realize it at the time, his uncommon family instilled in Curtis a sense of possibility and discipline; a belief that anything can be mastered with practice; a recognition of the importance of joy in work. Curt’s journey as variety artist took off when the Coast Guard transferred his father’s post to Portland, Oregon – home of the Reed College juggling club. Under the tutelage of juggling greats Rhys Thomas, David Lichtenstein, and Charlie Brown, Curt quickly learned the performance trade and began shaping his infectious personality for the stage. by @curtshow

FIRE, burlesque and circus live on stage for your eyes only. by @curtshow

Jaja family variety hour was a hit! Sold to capacity and full of new beautiful community. We figured out what we need to do, to be able to make a show such as this many times over at the JajaCircus space.

I love this fully transitional professional development space JaJa PDX Circus is making for Portland. Circus and theater and community and juggling and and and and it’s at 8th and Taylor.

A huge thanks to everyone for your support on this project. There are too many people to list. I will have to do it on the next post.
