Probably the last touch on most of these events before Vegas! I’ll hit one more heavy-ish log and deadlift session this week, but most of the heavy work is done. Starting to get excited… by @cvaughan21

Clusters at 300 for 2 reps into 265 for 2 more reps for 3 total rounds. Didn’t move anything like I wanted them to, but I did clusters with 300lbs today…and put 300+ over my head 10 times this week. I’m confident that I’m better than I’ve ever been. 13 days til Vegas. by @cvaughan21

Ready to kick off year 12 tomorrow with this group. It’s officially hoop season! #letsgooooo by @cvaughan21

Probably the best single day I’ve ever had on the log that didn’t end in a 1RM. 5 singles at 305 and finished with a 6th at 315. I don’t know if I’ll be good enough to break the national record in 2 1/2 weeks, but I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility either… by @cvaughan21

Felt slower than normal today, but that’s to be expected at this point in prep. Couple more weeks to bring it all together. by @cvaughan21

21 years ago today, I sat in the bleachers and asked @laurapvaughan to be my girlfriend. And for some reason she said yes! I never gave any thought to the life we would build together over the next 20+ years…I just thought she was hot! I thank God everyday for Laura cause I know where I’d be without her…I’ll save the story, but every beautiful thing we have in our lives is because she believed in me and refused to give up on me. We got married in June, but October 25th will always be special. I love you, Laura! by @cvaughan21

Log clusters today for 6 total reps per round. 285 for the first 3 reps then 255 for the last 3. 1 rep every 30 seconds for 3 total rounds. Not mad that 285 is “light log day” weight right now… by @cvaughan21

Empty gym and a suit that was only as tight as I could get it by myself. 675x2 for a 2RM. I may not be good enough to win it next month, but I’m showing up better than I’ve ever been, and I can live with that. by @cvaughan21

1st and 8th rep at 295 today. They might have gotten smoother as the sets went on…only a couple heavy days left before show time. by @cvaughan21

Ellen and I got a workout in after practice 4 out of 5 days last week…This afternoon the dance team was using the gym, so I told her we’d do it at home. She asked me twice within the first 30 minutes of us getting home this afternoon something like “it’s getting dark, Daddy, are we just gonna do it tomorrow?” “Have you eaten dinner yet, is it time to practice?” No matter how tired I may have been, there’s no saying no to that! I’ve said it a million times, but if she takes after her Daddy she’ll never be the biggest or the fastest…but if she ends up being as stubborn as I am, she’ll probably end up pretty good at whatever she decides to pursue! by @cvaughan21

800 for 50’ in 20 seconds. Slower than slow, but a big PR. Confident I can put a better run together next month. Audio was me showing the video to @laurapvaughan after I finished 😂 by @cvaughan21

Got up early this morning to go watch @laurapvaughan run her best 5k ever! I’m always proud of her, but she competed in a strongman comp 3 weeks ago, so to turn around and PR her 5k today is extra impressive. I love you and love watching you compete! by @cvaughan21
