Visited @septembercoffeesg β€˜s new space, love the vibes but can’t say the same for the food… πŸ„β€πŸŸ« Portobello & Burrata Sourdough - miso sesame sourdough, panko crusted whole portobello mushroom, burrata cheese, argula & pesto πŸ₯“ Carbonara Udon - sanuki udon, glazed pancetta, egg yolk, butter, mentaiko, hondashi & parmigiano reggiano 🍘 Mushroom Risotto Croquette - risotto croquette, truffle, field mushroom, blue cheese cream & parmigiano reggiano (Was not expected the mushroom topping to be cold, but otherwise it’s okay.) Food is really just okay, not great not bad. But maybe not something I will queue 45 minutes for. That said, think their virtual queuing system is pretty fair that you can only join it if you are nearby. πŸ“ 8 Craig Road #brunch #coffee #sourdough #cafe #sgeats by @cwithclaire
Spanish dinner @casalola_sg By the same team from @foc_restaurant, the concept here is a Spanish bodega and the food didn’t disappoint as expected. πŸ§€πŸ– Assorted Cold Cuts & Cheese - Jamon Iberico, Mortadella, Chorizo, Manchego, Camembert, Gorgonzola, Pickles & Picos πŸ…πŸž Toasted Cristal Bread with Tomatoes & EVOO πŸ₯”πŸ³ Huevos Rotos with Black Truffles πŸ–πŸŽƒ Crispy Suckling Pig Debone, with Roasted Apple & Pumpkin No room for dessert after the feast, means will be back soon to try the other dishes! πŸ“3 Boon Tat Street #spanishfood #spanishbodega #tapas #sangrias #sgeats by @cwithclaire
Japanese-style brunch @cafegyoen 🎌 πŸ–πŸ™ Wagyu Tataki Beef Teishoku (with tamagoyaki, okra salad, onigiri, tater tots, miso soup & pickles) 🌟 πŸ¦€πŸ˜ Softshell Crab Teishoku πŸ₯›πŸœ Creamy Mentai Udon (cod roe cream sauce, onsen egg, tobiko & seaweed) 🐑🍟 Aburi Mentaiko Fries 🌟 πŸ§€πŸ° Hojicha Burnt Cheesecake 🌟 πŸ“πŸ΅ Strawberry Matcha Latte 🌟 Finally tried this as this has been on my to-go list for a while (but their original location at Serangoon Gardens was quite hard to get to)! Just go for their teishoku and skip the udon, noodles was too soft and the sauce was bland. πŸ“87 Club Street #teishoku #onigiri #strawberrymatcha #brunch sgeats by @cwithclaire
French-style Brunch @bonjour_macuisine 🍳 Croque Madame Truffle - truffle crispy sando topped with a sunny side up egg 🍟 Frites - homemade triple cooked french fries and mustard mayo 🐟 Quenelle De Brochet Sauce Nantua - fish quenelle lyonnaise speciality with crustacean sauce 🍫 Profiteroles - choux pastry vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate and whipped cream Overall, not sure what is the hype about… the food is okay but not life changing. The texture of quenelle is like a mix of fish paste and tofu, and differs from my memory of what I have eaten in Paris, probably not a dish that most people will like. πŸ“38 Craig Road #french #brunch #croquemadame #quenelle #sɒᴇᴀᴛs by @cwithclaire
Decided to go for the Winnie the Pooh high tea @skai.sg on a free Friday afternoon πŸ―β˜•οΈ just before it changes to the current Toy Story theme. Went with zero expectations for the food having read the reviews, but it turned out pretty edible. Not so sure about the service though. Initially given bar counter seats and asked to change because it is noisy and there’s barely enough space. (Btw, it was not stated anywhere during reservation that bar counter seats are used for tea.) They kept pushing us to top up $25 for the window tables which we declined because we were not here for the views. At some point, they finally decided they could give us an unoccupied non-window table. Does this need to be so difficult? Will not recommend this place if you want a peaceful afternoon. πŸ“SwissΓ΄tel The Stamford Singapore, Level 70 #winniethepooh #100thanniversary #afternoontea #sgeats by @cwithclaire
Typhoon wet weather plan @ajoy_tw 🍽️ Best way to spend 2.5 hours on a rainy day; EAT! Wide variety of food and quality is great! The live stations concept means the food is freshly prepared which is a big plus. The wagyu beef was really awesome, most memorable dish of the day πŸ₯©. As they are pretty popular, please do make reservations beforehand (we used Klook). πŸ“ Taipei 101 #buffet #taipei101 #ajoy #taipei #travel by @cwithclaire
Taipei πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ό over the long (National Day) weekend! @wangs_broth - Easily the best lu rou fan 🐷🍚. Don’t be taken aback by the darker than usual braise sauce, flavour’s on point and it’s not salty. Can see why it’s a Michelin-guide spot! @softpower.tw - Another Michelin-guide spot, did not expect much as the google reviews were not great. The brown sugar bun was nicely soft and this πŸ” was decent. But the soy milk and dan bing were mediocre. Overall not worth the 30mins wait imo. Just queue for Fu Hang if you want breakfast β—‘Μˆ @chunshuitang - Simple dry noodles with minced meat and beansprouts. Also got their milk tea and fruit tea, as they are supposedly the inventor of πŸ§‹. @tai_wan_food (Da Dao Cheng Lu Rou Fan) - Last meal near Taipei Main station and it was a good one. 🍳 on lu rou fan, I’m sold! #taipei #taipeieats #luroufan #danbing #travel by @cwithclaire
Japanese-fusion Izakaya @nikomi_253.sg πŸ› Hamburg Omurice with Cheese - Hearty and ticks all the boxes in a good omurice πŸͺ· Stuffed Lotus Root - First time trying such a combination, pretty interesting and yums πŸ₯˜ Beef Tofu Stew - One of Nikomi’s signature stews. Like the tofu more than the beef, to be honest. πŸ₯“ Sukiyaki Croquette - Didn’t know it will be the same beef from the Beef Tofu Stew topped on a croquette. Not so sure about this dish as it was not hot, and the croquette was soggy at the bottom. Overall, a decent quiet spot for a dinner… But I wouldn’t be back again because the food isn’t as what some food reviewers raved about. Well, food taste is subjective and I may have not ordered the right dishes. They have Monjayaki which is not so easy to find in Singapore, but it’s not my thing so I skipped it. πŸ“76 Shenton Way, 01-04/05 #japaneseizakaya #omurice #beefstew #tgif #sgeats by @cwithclaire
The latest outlet of @muikeesg focuses more on individual sets and a more casual self-service environment. Got the Soy Sauce Chicken Thigh Noodles πŸ—πŸœ with a side of fried dumplings πŸ₯Ÿ! πŸ“ Raffles City, B1-46 #soysaucechicken #hknoodles #dumplings #sgeats by @cwithclaire
Italian with modern Australian twist here @cenzo.sg Happy to try refreshed menu items since the last visit in Dec 2024: πŸ¦€ Uni & Crab Tartlets πŸ«“ Garlic Bread with whipped lardo & burnt honey 🍝 Linguine with zucchini, pecorino & basil πŸ– Lambcherta with burnt onion puree Everything was great, personal favourite is the Linguine and wished I had more! πŸ“81 Club Street #italianfood #garlicbread #linguine #lambchetta #sgeats by @cwithclaire
Garden Brunch @parkside.sg 🌳 πŸŠβ˜•οΈ Yuzu Mornings - cold brew coffee, fresh orange juice & yuzu πŸ—πŸ₯š Salted Egg Chicken Scramble - scrambled eggs & salted egg fried chicken on sourdough (The salted egg seasoning tasted more like curry, may have liked it better if the egg was runnier.) 🍳🍞 Kaya, Bacon & Eggs - kaya french toast, fried egg, crispy bacon & okinawa black sugar caramel (Felt that the black sugar sauce overpowered the kaya taste, could have separared the sauce and let one decide how much sweetness one wants in this dish.) 🍨🍫 Mud Pie - brownie bites, cookie crumb, vanilla soft serve & caramel (Did not like the caramel sauce on this.) Vibes are πŸ’―, but probably will not come back again just for the food. πŸ“ 1 Cluby Road, Nassim Gate Visitor Centre, Singapore Botanic Gardens #botanicgarden #brunch #coffee #weekends #sgeats by @cwithclaire
Authentic 🍜 @ramen_soshiji.sg 🫚 Ginger Shoyu - Niigata’s Nagaoka-style ramen featuring rich soy sauce broth with grated ginger. 🌢️ Hakata Tonkotsu - Got the bowl with the maximum spicy red sauce and satisfied my Ichiran craving. πŸ₯Ÿ Jumbo Siew Mai - Fan of japanese-style siew mai with that dollop of mustard. πŸ₯“ Stamina Pork Belly Rice Bowl - Sauteed with housemade soya-based garlic aroma sweet sauce and topped with egg yolk for the extra richness. ⏳ Queued for 1.5 hours on a Saturday evening. I hope they will consider implementing a dine-in time limit during peak meal times because not everyone is considerate (next table of 4 ladies sat around to chat for at least 30mins after they have finished their food). πŸ“Orchard Plaza, 03-42 #ramen #japanesefood #porkbellydon #sgeats by @cwithclaire
