i deeply appreciate my friends and neighbors for bringing some purpose back into my life again with their guitars. restringing guitars puts me in such a meditative state. it brings me joy when i hear the stories behind these guitars. here are some photos from the last few guitars i had the pleasure of restringing.

this is aaron. a friend of mine through music, we also went to the same high school together. he brought me his breedlove passport c250/cme first and then brought his taylor the next day. the last time i worked on a guitar with a pinless bridge was when i owned a takamine gs430s (a discontinued model). it was quite refreshing to work with the pinless bridge after so long. when it comes to breedlove and taylor, three musicians come to mind. @sean_croizier_music and @justtiredofficial owned breedloves at one point. as for the taylor, i am instantly reminded of @prettywellok. the split we recorded together and the shows we’ve shared are memories i’ll always cherish. and that chill hike we did as well during our recording session.

this breedlove was basking triumphantly in the sunlight after being restrung.

breedlove has quite a unique headstock design. once you get its shape stuck in your head, it’s undeniable from a distance.

breedlove also have this comfortable cutaway for their guitars. designed a bit differently from traditional cutaways. quite a unique guitar to have in your arsenal, all in all.

this dreadnought guitar belongs to jason, one of his newer acoustic guitars after the demise of his cort (iykyk haha). his birthday passed recently and as a gift, i changed his guitar strings.

jason is one hell of a songwriter. a daring one at that too. you don’t encounter many musicians willing to let you tune their guitars to whatever you please. i left his guitar in EbGDFBbD. and i have no doubt in my mind he’ll write a banger with it. if i recall correctly, this guitar is from the 80s (apparently). a kay k500 starter. you could put any guitar in jason’s hands and he’ll spit out a riff instantly.

when i moved back to murrieta, i already knew who i’d be able to hang out with. i didn’t expect to make any new friends. that was until my neighbor approac taken in Murrieta, California by @tinytoycitiesband

today marks the following: 2 months since the release of “songs performed in intimate spaces for listeners of elsewhere”, 6 and a half months no alcohol, and 1 year 3 months and 15 days no hard substances.

at the beginning of may the dudes from itbg bought me a recording interface, an sm57, a mic cable, and a mic stand. ever since then, i’ve been spending my time writing demos. i’m slowly working my way around luna (the daw provided with the volt 176). i’m so used to just writing ideas in my head onto video or voice memos. or in itbg’s case - just jamming it out. so this is kind of new territory to me. not entirely new, because i use to write songs on guitar pro 6 all the time (that was ages ago). but in terms of recording it and understanding the language of the daw, entirely new for sure. the demo title is named after what you simply see. this is just one of many plants in my mom’s garden. this is also one out of (currently) 32 demos that i wrote.

it’s been one week since i dropped “songs performed in intimate spaces for listeners of elsewhere”. i am forever grateful for those who listened, purchased the album, and shared it. this song is on the record and it’s something i find myself playing a lot. the title “different starting points” comes from a phone conversation i had with a friend when i was down on my luck in 2024. it comes from the notion of “progress is not linear” - although i know there are those who oppose this thought. talking about my struggles is something i often find difficulty with. sometimes i feel like i don’t deserve to call them struggles with everything that’s going on in our world. there’s a lot of shame that comes with it. thank you to those who have allowed me to lean on them recently. and thank you to those who have listened to my music - in their own time or during my performance - and have told me how much it has meant to them. the phrase “different starting points” means a lot to me now more than ever. the guitar is tuned a half step down from facgce #acoustic #writersround #progressisnotlinear taken in Pour Company by @tinytoycitiesband
