Now and forever ❤️
Three generations, one walk — overlooking the sea, feet grounded, hearts full.

I used to think barefoot shoes were only for a certain type of person…
Because honestly, all the ones I saw were so ugly and so sensible.
Until I found @belenka_barefoot

They let your feet move the way they’re meant to — freely, fully, without restriction.

It’s amazing how something so simple can feel so good.
No squishing. No stiffness. Just light, flexible sandals that worked for all of us — from my 8-year-old to my 78-year-old mum.

We’ve come a long way, but some of the best things in life are the ones that bring you back to yourself… and to each other.

Ode to my mama… just because. ❤️
I don’t praise this woman enough.
She’s my mum, obviously. But she’s also been my best friend, my sister, my sounding board, my safety net… and, if I’m being completely truthful, she’s been the closest thing my girls have had to another parent consistently me.
For all these years, she’s been the one who has shared the parenting with me. The person I’ve called. The person who’s stepped in. The person who’s worried with me, celebrated with me, helped me make the decisions and loved my girls as fiercely as I do.
She hasn’t just helped me raise them. She’s helped me through every version of me too - and God knows there have been a few. 😂
We drive each other absolutely mad. We bicker. We disagree. We can probably irritate each other more than anyone else on earth. 😂 But underneath all of that is something I probably don’t say nearly enough:
I genuinely don’t know what I would have done without her.
There’s no birthday. No Mother’s Day. No reason for this post at all, really.
Except that she’s here. I love her. And I want to say it while I can.
Thank you, Mama. For me. For my girls. For all of it. I love you SO very much @da_llas5921

Always and forever. ❤️ by @alex.leigh2.0

Three weeks ago my mum’s knees were really giving her grief 🥺
Instead of accepting it as “just part of getting older”, she started making time for a little daily mobility practice.
Nothing extreme.
Nothing complicated.
Just a few minutes each day.
She’s now progressed into the transition classes and the difference in how she’s moving, her confidence and her willingness to trust her body again has been amazing to watch 🥹💛
The biggest lesson?
Small actions, repeated consistently, really do add up.
Proof that it’s never too late to start looking after your body 🤍

Three generations. One sit & rise challenge 😆💛
This little test gives you a really interesting snapshot of mobility, strength, coordination and how confidently your body moves.
Cross your legs. Sit down. Stand back up. No hands 👀
Now in fairness 😆 my mum is usually ridiculously active and would normally absolutely smash this… but her knee has been giving her grief lately 🥺
Which is EXACTLY why this matters.
Because this isn’t about perfection.
It’s about staying capable.
Staying independent.
And keeping confidence in your body for as long as possible.
And the fact my mum still gets herself up off the floor unassisted at 79? Absolute icon 🥹💛
She’s starting the Trust Based Mobility 8-minute reset now… so let’s see where she is in 21 days 👀✨

You all know how proud I am of how active my mum @da_llas5921 is at 79 🥲
But lately her knees have really been giving her grief.
And instead of doing what so many people do - ignoring it, blaming age, or trying to just push through, we’re doing something different.
Stripping everything right back.
Starting with the Eddie Moves 8-minute reset.
Gentle movement.
Breathing.
Rebuilding trust.
Because staying active as we age matters… and if eight minutes a day helps keep her moving confidently, that’s a huge win 💛

Monday reminder… my 79 year old mum @da_llas5921 just put me to shame in a skip off 😅🔥 and honestly, she does this in life too. She comes on all my adventures with me, keeps up with everything and never sits anything out. She’s not “old”, she’s my friend, my inspiration and living proof that getting older doesn’t have to mean slowing down, fading out or becoming less. It can mean stronger, freer and more alive than ever. So if you’re telling yourself it’s too late, or you’re too tired, or now’s not the time… just remember her 👀 what kind of life are you building for your future self?
Also… OMG these @crossropejumpropes are dead fancy 😅🔥 not your standard skipping rope at all. I was on the weighted ropeless one while she of course went straight in with the rope, and it’s even got an app that tracks your progress with loads of different workouts to choose from. Can’t wait to get stuck into it properly.

Most people think strength is the key to ageing well.
But balance is what keeps you independent.

This simple 3-step sequence trains the three systems that prevent falls:

🦶 gait control (heel-toe walk)
↔️ lateral stability (side steps)
🧍‍♀️ single-leg balance

🧠 Overall benefit of the sequence

This is basically a mini fall-prevention circuit that trains:

✔️ walking control
✔️ lateral stability
✔️ static balance

👉 covering the 3 main balance systems (dynamic, reactive, static)

It takes under two minutes, needs no equipment, and the benefits compound over time.

Because longevity isn’t just about living longer -it’s about moving confidently while you do 💛 by @alex.leigh2.0

My mum is nearly 79.

She’s had breast cancer twice, a stroke, a broken back, a fractured skull, and more loss than most people would face in 10 lifetimes.

Last night she did 70 skips - 20 before I got the camera out, then the 50 you see here.

She’s aiming for 100.

This isn’t luck or genetics.
It’s decades of keeping her body moving.

This is what’s possible at almost 80 🙌🙌🙌

It’s so easy at Christmas to slip into
“Ah… it’s Christmas. I’ll just stop and start again in January.”

But that’s how exercising suddenly feels hard again.

Why undo the consistency you’ve built all year?
That’s self-sabotage — just dressed up as festive permission.

This isn’t about workouts or willpower.
It’s about keeping your toe in.

Even 10 minutes a day keeps the habit alive.
Keeps your body familiar.
Keeps January feeling like a continuation — not a restart.

These are simple, joint-friendly moves you can do anywhere, and even better… get the whole family involved.

Move a little.
Enjoy Christmas fully.
Carry on feeling good. 💛 by @alex.leigh2.0

They say if you can jump from your knees to your feet your biological age is under 30…
So obviously me, Mum & Lala had to try it 😅💪🏼

And honestly? I feel stronger, healthier and more alive than I ever did in my 30s — because I stopped chasing quick fixes and started building real energy ✌🏼💪🏼👊🏼

Can you do it? Let me know!! 👇
