Today is so bittersweet. I started planning a ‘Sweet 16’ party two months ago. I planned for cute outfits that they’d hate, doggy treats, steaks, and toys for these old ladies. Even though you know your fur baby can’t live nearly as long as they should, March 6th was something I could’ve never planned for.

PJ, the house is so quiet without you chunky. Every corner of the house holds your memory. I hate getting out of the shower because I know you aren’t laying in the hallway waiting for me. I miss hyping you up to smile, which was crooked and scary but also perfect! You are the smartest and kindest dog I’ve ever known and it’s been an honor to love and care for you. You and your sister has helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. You were the best big sister and we’re taking care of Squishii. I couldn’t ask anything more of you after 16 years. Thank you for everything tootie bootie, happy birthday🤍🐾

Squishii, you’ve taught me the meaning of strength in these last 23 days. Your deafness made you heavily rely on PJ and we had no idea what life would look like moving forward while helping you through your grief. While it was heartbreaking watching you understand reality, you started to play again. To wag your tail again. To be curious about every little thing. Tyson tries to guide you the way PJ did (sometimes😂) I am so proud of you and your resilience mama. The party was cancelled but we’re still celebrating and spoiling you today.
Just wait until dinner😉

Before the day ends, I had to take the time to dedicate this to my mother! It’s her birthday and the amount of obstacles she’s overcome in the last year is indescribable. The last 2 photos are my mom during her first appointment with an oncologist to talk about surgery for kidney cancer she had been recently diagnosed with vs. waking up from that surgery cancer free. I remember taking that photo in the doctor’s office knowing that I’ll look back on it and laugh at how worried and stressed we all were. Everyone knows my mom as playful, crazy, and screaming “THATS MY BABY” at every sporting event I had. 2024 was rough but I couldn’t imagine this life or the next without my first best friend!
