We’re officially 20! What a joy it’s been to spend two decades celebrating the work of so many talented, determined cheesemakers. I am so grateful to the chefs, Dairymaids, shop regulars, and other cheese enthusiasts who have joined us in our love of good cheese and support for small, independent cheesemakers. We’re so fortunate to be in Houston, a city that has embraced this “crazy” cheese idea from the start. Here’s to the cheesy decade ahead! ❤️🧀 Lindsey by @dairymaids

🧀 This tiny Houston cheese shop has sent it cheese to space!! 🚀 @dairymaids is a cheese lovers dream! You get cheese tasting samples when you walk in, and it’s impossible to walk out without getting at least one block— they’re soo good! They used to focus just on Texas cheeses and now they’ve expanded beyond Texas as well. This is the perfect spot for a charcuterie night (they have bread/crackers and wine too).

What cheese do yall get here??

You’ve asked about the art on our 20th Anniversary tote. It was painted by the amazing Kati Ozanic-Lemberger. Kati and her husband Yolle (pictured here) are well-known talents and we’re so lucky to call them friends. They made the sign outside our building, and Kati has painted portraits of cheese and even our chickens! Many thanks to them for their many years of support. Reach out to Kati if you’d like her to paint something for you! @katiozanic by @dairymaids

Summer’s over. Starting today, we are back to our regular hours. You can get cheese on Monday again! See you soon! by @dairymaids

New to Dairymaids! Another stunning raw milk farmstead cheese from Fromagerie La Station in Québec. Patterned after French Morbier, Chemin du Brule has a line of ash through its center. Its subtle, grassy, mushroomy flavor and smooth, melting texture are perfection! by @dairymaids

We have a great option for your cheese pairings: small batch jams from @confituras in Austin! Stephanie has been making preserves using local ingredients since 2010. Her selections change with the seasons; right now we have the Texas Peach and Strawberry Balsamic Black Pepper. Delicious! by @dairymaids

It’s no secret that we LOVE Pure Luck Dairy. For almost 20 years, we’ve gone to the farm every other week to pick up Amelia’s amazing fresh farmstead goat cheese. We were there yesterday - come by this weekend and taste the freshest batch of basket chevre!

Welcome back, Bloomsday! We’re thrilled to have this raw milk cheese from Cato Corner Farm in Connecticut return to the shop. Bloomsday is an original cheese with the brightness of a cheddar and a smooth, meltable paste. A fantastic example of American farmstead cheesemaking! by @dairymaids

The cheesemakers at Von Trapp Farmstead have eclipsed themselves with this celestial wheel of Savage! Made with their organic Jersey milk, Savage is a nuanced, buttery, savory cheese in the style of a Swiss Alpine.

It’s part of this week’s cheese selection. Come by the shop to taste it! by @dairymaids

Chris Roelli sent us a special extra aged version of his Roelli Haus Cheddar. Look how beautiful it is! The last time we received a batch like this was 4 years ago - some of you are still asking about it! These wheels are as good as they look. Savoriness balanced with brightness, it’s an ideal cheddar.

We’re putting it on this week’s tasting and will have it until it runs out, which won’t be long! by @dairymaids

This Thursday and Friday are Double Punch Days! You not only get the 5 amazing American cheeses we’ve picked for July 4th, but you are one step closer to a free bag of cheese! by @dairymaids
