Lovely day for a guided trot round the Harkerside Hustle route! Thanks to everyone who joined us and to Peter and Neil for supporting! Whilst we are sad the event didn’t go ahead, it was fab to get to chat to you all and share the route under more relaxed conditions. We had chance to share some of the history and wildlife of this part of Swaledale as we went round and a few of us got competitive on the Strava segment up to Greets! 😂 The soup at the Dales Bike Centre was a very welcome way to finish off the morning! Thanks to Stu and Bren for their hospitality! These are my photos but please share yours in the DalesRunner Community. #dalesrunner by @dalesrunner
Huge thanks to all competitors who have supported our events this year, whether you've run one event or all of them! We have constructed series results. It's not a huge finishers list this year but that does not mean to say we did not see some impressive performances! Hannah Seddon takes our Female Category crown in a stunning combined time of 5 hours 20 minutes for the DR20 and DR30. Zoom, zoom! The Open Category title goes to Gary Wilkinson in a combined time of 6 hours and 15 minutes. Our short course female champion for 2026 is Lesley Whitehouse with a combined time of 3 hours 27 minutes for the Fremington Frenzy and Swinner Swagger! Unfortunately we don't have an open winner for that one this year. We will be in touch with the winners and series finishers. (Just bear with us as it might not be tonight) Congratulations to all our 2026 series finishers! #dalesrunner by @dalesrunner
Due to the cancellation of the DR40/Harkerside Hustle we have been unable to complete the DalesRunner Series this year. 😢 As we have advertised the events as a series, we want to make sure we honour that commitment to our amazing competitors who support our events. We have created a set of results from the two series events that did take place, taking into account those who had entered the DR40/Harkerside Hustle. We appreciate that there may have been others who had intended to enter the DR40/Harkerside Hustle to complete the series, but hadn't got round to it before we made the decision to cancel the event. Regrettably, it's not a perfect situation and we are trying to provide the most fair solution we can given the circumstances. We'll post the results tomorrow and be in touch with series winners. Thanks for your understanding Jess and Simon. by @dalesrunner
With heavy hearts, we regret to announce that this year's DR40/Harkerside Hustle will not be going ahead. At this stage, entry numbers are too low for the event to break even on costs. To be as fair as possible to those who have entered and our suppliers/partners, we have decided to cancel it now rather than wait until the very last minute. We hope, at this stage, that alternative events can be found for those who are building training miles up to the event, or using it as a build up race. Competitors will be emailed tomorrow with further details with regards to refunds, alternative options and the series results. We thank you all for your support and we apologise for letting you down on this occasion. #dalesrunner by @dalesrunner
What have you done with your weekend? Lots of folk are packing in the long runs ahead of autumn marathons/half marathons. Barningham Moor is one of my favourites for a mid week easy run. Not as purple as previous summers but the raptors were on form - a few mandatory hydration breaks to watch the buzzards and kites! Share your adventure photos in the comments! We love to see them! #dalesrunner #shareitsunday by @dalesrunner
Our final event of the year, the DR40 and Harkerside Hustle are just 6 weeks away. As you know, our number one priority is putting on a great event for wonderful people. We will always do everything we can to make an event go ahead; as long as the event breaks even, it happens. Unfortunately, at the present time, we simply don't have enough entries to cover the fixed costs for this one and our cut off date is looming. 😢 If you have your sights set on an entry for these fantastic new routes, get on @sientries and make it so! Shout out to the wonderful Georgie and Susie at longruncollective. Check out their YouTube channel for the most amazing yoga sessions which are currently helping me stay in one piece while the miles add up. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCQlNUhIMyVQ2yI-CObSDsmw?ra=m Definitely recommended! #dalesrunner by @dalesrunner
The weekend is here and today it has been cool enough to explore without being burned to a frazzle! Where have you been? Racing snake or training miles? This photo was taken at Ditchling Beacon on the South Downs Way which was our picnic stop before we caught the ferry. Anyone else done this route? #dalesrunner #shareitsunday by @dalesrunner
We’ve had a bit of a social media detox and battery recharge. A few highlights from 10 days of exploring Normandy trails for Jess! Did anyone go for an eclipse run yesterday? #dalesrunner #holidayrunning by @dalesrunner
