Adding in bits of Christmas vibes with foraged and handmade items. They almost always make me happier than store bought items. Items with a story are the best. #nostalgicchristmas #neutralchristmasdecor #neutralholidaydecor #holidayhomedecor #seasonsofhome #simplechristmas #gallerywalldecor #holidaygallerywall #southernlivingmagazine #countryhomemagazine #cottagejournalmagazine #handmadechristmas #designinspiration by @dalita_home
A Winter mantel from years past. We are in a new home this holiday season. This is the sixth home I’ve shared the holidays in with my children. The home from my marriage that brought the first three children, two years in a rental with those three plus my new husband and a new addition 🩵, a home we all shared for 11 years and sold to follow grandbabies to another county and the one Christmas we spent there, four Christmas seasons in my mother’s home that we purchased, and now a home back in my husband’s hometown with an empty nest for the first time in 38 years. God has truly blessed us and each photo I come across reminds me of a home that has beautiful memories of our life through the seasons. #seasonsofhome #wintermantel Christmas Mantel Winter Decor Seasons of home Country Home Decor Country Cottage Decor Home Design Cozy Home by @dalita_home

Apple Butter. This is what six pounds of apples produces. My youngest son placed an order so here we are 😊. I love the pop the lids make as they seal all that goodness in for us to enjoy throughout the year. I’ll be sharing as well and probably making another batch as Christmas gifts. Where it landed (first slide) versus where it started, thus far. I found this old scrap of tattered, embroidered fabric at the thrift store for $6. I used a frame I had at home to place it in. I had actually painted over the picture that was originally in this frame. Now to decide where to place it! (The tattered edges are my favorite part) #thriftedhome #upcycledartart #countryhouse #framedfabric #creativehome cottages, country home, wall decor by @dalita_home
Autumn is South Alabama. The current temp is 69 with a predicted high of 76 so no sweaters needed here. It’s all relative and so it seems very comfortable after our Summer. #fallinthesouth #southernalabama #simplelifestyle #homeagain #viewfrommywindow by @dalita_home

A piece I did a few years ago. It was inspired by an Anton Mauve painting. I could never achieve the look I wanted, but this is what I ended up with after wiping part of it away. It sold within days. I learned from the time spent creating this piece and from the errors made along the way. I learned that what I see as imperfect can still be beautiful. Someone found beauty in my mistakes. Maybe God doesn’t see beauty in our mistakes, but what we learn from them and how we grow from them. #oilpaintings #oilartist #antonmauve #copyingthemasters #sheepart by @dalita_home

I think she’d like to come home with me. I see the love in her eyes. Could she be the next thing I put on canvas??? 🧐 #cowsofig #cowart #artsubject #alabamacattle by @dalita_home
Adding my work to our new dining space reminds me how accomplished a piece of work can make me feel and reminds me of the many reasons I began this journey. I think all three of these pieces were inspired by @marianparsonsart aka @missmustardseed, who has shared her talents so willingly over the years. I’ve loved watching her grow as an artist. We are almost settled into our new place and have just become empty nesters so I’m excited to get back to my oils. I’ve spent a lot of time researching and deciding exactly how to begin again. I’ve reviewed so many of the pieces that inspired me. #selftaughtarti̇st #artistsofinsta #diningroomart #oilpainters #originalartworks by @dalita_home
