When people ask me about firearms and sport shooting, I often end the conversation by saying, “It’s the greatest community I’ve ever been a part of.” Nothing captured that sentiment better than this past weekend at @taccomcanada.

I had the opportunity to reconnect with Savanah, whom I first met nearly eight years ago at the birthplace of the TACCOM event, Firearms Outlet Canada. Back then, she was a vivacious 10-year-old with an incredible passion for sport shooting. I remember watching her confidently run an airsoft IPSC course of fire, displaying skills, enthusiasm, and determination well beyond her years. Her energy was infectious.

With the support of her wonderful family and the shooting community around her, Savanah continued to grow within the sport, eventually transitioning from airsoft to competitive shooting with firearms and becoming an active member of a community we all cherish.

Somewhere along that journey, the little girl known on Instagram as “Pew Pew Princess” grew up. Eight years later, that same enthusiasm and confidence are still there—but now accompanied by maturity, purpose, and a presence all her own. The Pew Pew Princess has evolved into the Dangerous Diva, carrying forward the passion she had as a kid while forging an identity and path uniquely hers.

Nearly eight years after our first photo together, I had the absolute honour of adding another one to the Instagram album—and, more importantly, hearing about how much her life has evolved, the challenges she has overcome, and the career ambitions those experiences have helped inspire.

I have little doubt that eight years from now, this remarkable young woman will be making a meaningful difference in the world.

Reconnecting with Savanah was easily the highlight of my TACCOM weekend and a reminder of what makes this community so special. We may come together because of a shared passion for sport shooting, but it’s the people, friendships, mentorship, and watching the next generation grow that make this community truly one of a kind by @codeofarmstv
