@lab54_uk & @ikeauk After Movie

🎵 : @jenngunn_ - Obsessed

i’m extremely proud to share an after movie i worked on with the team of Lab54 & IKEA after their London Pop Up series, one of Lab’s biggest series to date and i’m forever grateful they put their trust in me to capture the moments from the weekend of chaos.

with lead up to IKEA opening their new store on Oxford Road this Thursday, the series plays off the idea of what home truly means and how important the third space is for us. community spaces, in particular the music scene, is constantly under threat and many third spaces are struggling but series like this allows us to think about placemaking and improving spaces for people to connect in unconventional ways.

never did i expect to be working on an event where my saturday included filming in a kebab shop, a London black cab mobile DJ set which then took us to a rave in a library.

thanks to @tazzzzj for putting me forward for the project, to Jess who heads up the Content team at Lab and the rest of their team for being legends to work alongside. massive thanks to the team at IKEA who came down to see the series unfold, the venues involved and the punters who made it so effortless for me to capture some great moments.

special mention to Jenn Gunn who provided the music which soundtracks the after movie so beautifully.

4 Days of 5 events, edited after movie in 2 days post-shoot.

means the world to be able to work on such projects. by @danieldelabastide

King Krule in Liverpool back in June 2023, at the Invisible Wind Factory.

realised i never got around to sharing these photos from a few months back. shortly after the release of Space Heavy, the band have been touring around the world, stopping by Liverpool in June and managed to go see them in Manchester last week.

also, a portrait of Archy we took during his time in Liverpool, is on the sleeve of the record. a period of time i look back on fondly. thanks for everything and more. by @danieldelabastide

Outlook Youth Orchestra - Short Documentary

Last year, i had the pleasure of working on directing, editing & colour grading a short documentary following the ‘Outlook Youth Orchestra’, which brings together emerging creatives from underrepresented backgrounds across the UK that led to them performing on one of the biggest UK festival stages.

Having come from one of these backgrounds myself, it was an opportunity that truly felt relatable to my personal experiences and a significant moment within my creative journey. Being able to creatively shape this project alongside the talented team, to even bringing in videographers which we mentored in the programme, was a proud moment for myself and to be at Glastonbury for the first time was a beautiful touch. To be part of such a programme alongside the pioneers who shaped jungle and drum & bass music, it’s a project that showcases history and innovation to shaping a greater music culture.

Big love to the team who worked on the project with me.

Check it out, through the link in my bio.
