Sophia and I recently took a much needed vacation up in Maine. We stayed in a super cozy log cabin on a lake in Winthrop and got to visit a bunch of fun locations like Acadia National Park, Wolfe Neck Agricultural Center, and Coastal Maine botanical gardens (which will be featured in a later post). Going in the beginning of May, we got to see the waking ecosystem coming to life after a harsh northern winter. The color pallet from the mosses, lichen, leafless birch trees, and hardy evergreen conifers was absolutely beautiful and so unique to this environment. It was also my first time ever camping at the Wolfe Neck oceanfront campgrounds! Having smores by a fire and sleeping under the stars is a truly refreshing experience I'd love to have many more of. by @daniellocke_

The Camelia house has a new look🙌 In the past three days we tore every one of the 17 Camelias that have been growing in that section for almost 20 years! From 17 to 70 new varieties this house is now jam packed full of vibrant beautiful Camelia of different shapes, sizes, textures, fragrance, and color! (there's even a purple bloom waiting to show out👀) Be sure to check in on my story where I'll be looking out for these blooms the moment they pop! However you all should pay a visit soon to see the gardens in it's final spring glory while it lasts.

Me and Sophia paid a visit to Morris Arboretum and Gardens yesterday. All the color and fragrance from the early spring blooms! I cant get enough of it! The magnolias intoxicating fragrance is something to cherish for the short time that it's around. Colorful cherries and vast variety of eye catching trees make this place a hot spot for anyone into their arboriculture. I gotta say we hit this spot at the perfect time of the year! If you haven't already get over there quick to catch the fragrance and color while its still around! by @daniellocke_

San Fransisco Botanical Garden

Talk about small but mighty! SFBG impressed me a lot. With the little conservatory space they have, they managed to cram in some of the most impressive living plant displays I've seen! From orchids practically just growing in the air to the massive philodendron vines stuffing themselves into any space they can find, I was apauled with how neat yet wild everything looked. A true example of thriving indoor ecosystems being maintained properly and carefully looked over. 🙌

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Atlanta Botanical Garden while visiting my family for a wedding. This garden is incredible with all the different types of displays featuring some Halloween sculptures that are neatly organized throughout the garden as well as very impressive indoor and outdoor demonstrations of different types of climates showcasing some of the world's most captivating plants. It was also super cool how they implemented some unique animals into their conservatory. On the eighth slide is some information about the poison dart frogs that roam the indoor tropical forest alongside the guests. I'll let the rest of the photos do the talking, I took way too many😅.
