Something to start off the new year fresh by @danika.h.blake

Good Morning from the Military Occupied City of Chicago!!!

I woke up today, like most days, insanely proud to live in, what I truly believe to be, one of the greatest cities in the world

But even more so, I'm proud to live in a city in which it's OWN CITIZENS will come together and do whatever we can to protect OURSELVES

In the past month, the way in which our communities have come TOGETHER to step up and take care of each other is one of the most incredible and inspiring things to be apart of

From carrying and using your whistle, reporting to Quick Response networks, setting up MORE food pantries and food drives, fighting back against the unlawful occupation of our state, I'm so proud to live here and will do whatever I can to keep this as incredible as it always has been

Much Love, Danii by @danika.h.blake

This one right here

For those of y'all that didn't know, Revan Humphrey-Blake and I just celebrated our 5th Anniversary on June 6th

And we got to do something really special and share it working together at The Baton Show Lounge

For those of y'all that don't know, Revan is not only my partner but she is also my co-worker!

We've been working together at The Baton almost the entire time I've worked there

She started in the kitchen, then became an Assistant to the old owners, then became our Assistant Light and Sound Tech, as well as BarBacking, Security, Event Management AND NOW bartending!!!

She truly has found her place in this city, in this community, in this industry, and is now forever I twined in every aspect of our life together, and I couldn't be more grateful

Never did I think I would find someone who could tolerate my brain, let alone someone who NOT ONLY would understand my career choice, but would be involved in the same career as well!!!

These past 5 years have taught me:

•Patience
•Forgiveness
•Compassion
•Empathy
•Acceptance
•and so much much much more

And I know it hasn't been easy, it hasn't been simple, it's been a full on sprint of memories, experiences, people, places, food, travel, friends, family, love, loss, ups and downs and ups and downs and ups and so on

But I've enjoyed and treasured every second
And I will continue basking in your beauty and unconditional love for as long as you'll let me

I love you so much my Muffin,
To the Moon and hell and back, and all the galaxies beyond

Love,
Moonie

*THANK YOU Barbie Blanco , Bryan Cruz , Jacky Ireta Couture , Elea Atlanta , Joan , Sheri Payne Entertainer Payne , Marc Singletary and everyone Friday night that helped us celebrate*
