Weekday getaway. It only takes 14 mins to get from one mega city to another mega city 😩 by @danjams_

Rehearsal of Brahms’ B Major Trio from a while back with my awesome colleagues of the Xi’an Symphony Orchestra. Classic tune that we all know and love 😋 . #pianotrio by @danjams_
Some funny shots from last night’s show. Had a killer week playing two different programmes with the sinfonietta. Full baroque show on thurs + Scheherezade on Sat! Somehow managed and survived! . #orchestra #life by @danjams_
Having fun in Portugal (and feeling jet lagged) with Liu Liu (flute dude with HK Sinf). I thought this famous tune would suit well with the European summer. ☀️ The countermelody I took from the version recorded by Yo-Yo Ma in his album: ‘Yo-Yo Ma plays Ennio Morricone’. by @danjams_
My first concert with the Xi’an Symphony Orchestra was all the way back in 2017, through an exchange program with the University of Queensland. I remember doing Mahler 1 and Beethoven 8 with Dane Lam. Now after all these years, my final concert with XSO as their full time muso before I leave for Hong Kong, was also with Dane Lam. Kinda poetic. Xi’an will always be a special place for me. 🥹 by @danjams_
Performed Rach’s 3rd piano concerto last night with Haochen Zhang. Tbh, I didn’t really know who he was, but he was absolutely insane. One of the best pianists that I’ve worked with by far (his teacher, Gary Graffman, also taught Lang Lang and Yuja Wang). Had goosebumps as I was playing that heart wrenching melody in the final moments of the 3rd movement. Good stuff. #piano by @danjams_
Another show with this amazing orchestra. Probably the best rendition of Mozart’s 35th symphony I’ve played/heard. Also Mozart is still extremely difficult to play well. Maybe one day I’ll get it…. by @danjams_
