Happy Halloween, guys and ghouls! 🎃 by @danjvrobertson

Taking a moment to celebrate that my YA novel is out on submission to editors now! And just in time for Halloween 🧛‍♂️ This book has been a joy to work on. It challenged me as a writer in so many ways. I love these characters and their (fictional New Jersey!) world so much. Fingers crossed this is the book that gets its "yes." I'd love for readers to meet Peter and Chelsea and their "Legendary" families. 🖤

October vibes loading 🖤 Pretty soon I'll be going on submission with a project near and dear to my horror-loving heart, and I'm feeling very hopeful (and very spooky).🧛‍♂️

I figured it was time to do a little "Meet the Author" introduction here on Instagram 💜 Hi! I'm Danielle Robertson, writing to you from NJ. I'm a multi-genre writer of YA novels and short stories for teens and adults.
YA fiction, though? It has my heart. I love tackling the messy emotions and universal complications of growing up. In recent years, I’ve loved exploring this tumultuous time in my characters’ lives through a horror lens.
No matter the age group or genre, I’m most interested in writing character-driven stories about what we feel, what we fear, and who we become.
You can follow along with me here or through my Substack newsletter for more writing updates.
(Subscribers also get a free short story in their inbox!)
I'd love to know: what's something you'd love the opportunity tell your younger self? ✨

Thank you, September. 🍂 Let's see what the new month brings. (More family and friends, more art, more writing time... and more coffee, please.) 🍂 by @danjvrobertson

Reader friends! Join me on October 3rd for the first-ever virtual Hedgie House Book Fair! 📚

Hosted by @quillandcup, the Hedgie House Book Fair spotlights women writers across genres and stages of their writing journeys—from published authors with books ready for your shelf to emerging writers inviting you behind the scenes of what they're creating next.

During the Book Fair, participating writers get an Author Spotlight, sharing our books, works-in-progress, characters, writing lives, and plenty of opportunities to talk stories with YOU. 🥰

Come cozy up, meet some writers, and find something new to read. Find the link in my bio or message me for more info. Hope to see you there! 🦔

I'm thrilled to share this preview of my short story, "Marcus Drake is Not a Romantic," which will be a part of this year's 12 DAYS OF BOOK-CLUB-MAS anthology from @onceuponabookclubbox! 🎁 This advent calendar box includes an anthology of twelve short stories featuring one of twelve included gifts. As you read each story, you'll be prompted at a key moment to open the corresponding gift. It's truly an interactive reading experience!
(The gifts are not Christmas-themed... you can enjoy these stories and their gifts at any time of the year.)

Be sure to place your order for a box now. They are expected to ship by the end of November.
Thank you to Once Upon a Book Club for including me as a featured author this year! 🥰

September glimmers 💕 Thankful for time celebrating with family and friends. Tell me about a bright spot in your month! ✨ by @danjvrobertson

Something about September—maybe it's the new school year starting—makes me think about diners. An after-school trip for milkshakes and French fries (or even better: Disco Fries)... there's nothing else like it. DISCO FRIES & SCENIC DRIVES from @readfuriously features my short story, "The Vigilantes in Aisle Three," alongside an incredible mix of other NJ-inspired writing and art. I feel very lucky to be a part of it. You can grab your copy from the Read Furiously site or your online retailer of choice.
Now who's up for a plate of fries? 🍟
