THIS FRIDAY JUNE 28th is the closing reception for my Skullpture exhibit “Extending the Story”. Please join me from 5pm-8pm at Picnic Wine & Provisions 7301 N Sheridan to celebrate the experience of this 3 month run. It’s been an honor to get to watch and hear everyone take it all in. This week is your last chance to see these pieces in such a perfect space for them. If you’ve had your eye one, I suggest getting to Picnic before Friday for purchase. @autumnleft will be enchanting the evening with her musical skills, smiles and laughter. Come join us and the lovely staff at Picnic for an evening of Art, Wine and appreciation. #danyelduncan #chicagoart #chicagoartist #womenartists #winelover #localartist #rogersparkartist #bones #driftwood #deerbones #driedflowers #sculptures #picnicwineandprovisions #lakemichiganart #boneart #skulls #flowerart #chicagogalleries #chicagosculpture #chiart #sculpturegallery #extendingthestory #womanownedbusiness #sculptureart by @danyelduncan
Save the date! 06/28/24 Friday June 28th 5p-8p. Sadly my Skullpture show is coming to an end after an awesome 3 month run @picnicwineadventures Picnic Wine & Provisions 7301 N Sheridan. Please join me in celebrating this wonderful opportunity to share this intimate work with you all and my neighbors in Rogers Park. All 32 pieces are available for purchase, except obviously the ones that have sold already. If you have your eye on a particular piece I highly encourage you to make that purchase before the closing event. At the opening many people had their eyes on the same pieces and a few had to go for their second choice. My friend @autumnleft Autumn Giltner will be gracing us with musical vibes for the evening. Thank you to everyone who helped encourage, set up, visit and support me through this fantastic experience. Thanks to @winelifewithrain, @itsmadebyemily and the entire Picnic staff. It’s already time for a new art gallery opening at @picnicwineadventures 🥂 Come by Friday, April 5th from 5-8pm for the #FirstFriday gallery show to celebrate! Photographer and sculpturist Danyel Duncan will debut her series “Extending the Story” 🪵🌹🦴 This collection features “skullptures” made mostly of driftwood, animal bones, shells, rocks, and dried flowers that @danyelduncan has meticulously collected. You truly have to see this installation for yourself. And it’s my first 3-D gallery. I’m excited to showcase Danyel’s storytelling and radiance through these pieces. See you there! #ExtendingTheStory #artgallery #sculpture #RogersParkArtists #chicagoartist #RoPa by @danyelduncan
Two Birds 25”x10” My favorite piece currently. Ive had the elements for a long time but they recently finally came together. Gull skull on bird shaped driftwood with two dried roses, one light pink one with fuchsia edging. It will be difficult to let this one go. I look forward to sharing the debut of this deeply personal work with you all. My “Extending the Story” collection will be on display at Picnic Wine & Provisions through June. Save the Date: Friday April 5th 2024! Spending most of this month putting the final touches on a handful of brand new, never before seen pieces! So excited to share some of them with you all in person @picnicwineadventures Picnic Wine & Provisions located at 7301 Sheridan Rd in Rogers Park, Chicago. The artist reception will be Friday April 5th from 6 to 8pm. The work will be up April through June and available for purchase. “Extending the Story” is composed of “skullptures” made mostly of driftwood, animal bones, shells, rocks and dried flowers. I believe this collection was inspired by my struggle of learning to cope with the loss of my father. Learning to walk consciously through grief and continuing to give it the attention it often inconveniently needs. Just because something dies (looses the vibration that is life) doesn’t mean the story has ended. There is so much we just will never know. The culmination of this work is an appreciation for life in all of its forms. Honestly I find myself a little overwhelmed at the idea of standing in a space with people all stepping so into my feelings. #danyelduncan #chicagoart #chicagoartist #womenartists #femaleartists #localartist #rogersparkartist #bones #deer #driftwood #driedflowers #flowers #sculptures #picnicwineandprovisions #picnicwine #lakemichiganart #illinoisart #wallart #wine by @danyelduncan
