The way we discipline children has to make sense for their development.

Not just our frustration.
Not just our expectations.

Their development. by @dariuslamarspeaks

The Riverside Project is a phenomenal organization that serves people who are alongside the “river”. I’m grateful to collaborate with them in efforts to meet people who are in need. Check out this podcast to hear the full conversation! (Link in bio) by @dariuslamarspeaks

What should care and treatment look like for children who have experienced really hard circumstances?

In this episode, @dariuslamarspeaks shares the key tenets of TBRI® and how it strengthens families, how the foster care and juvenile justice systems can work together more effectively, and what systemic change really requires.

Two Practitioners. One Mission. ❤️

Today feels especially meaningful.

My wife and I just completed our first TBRI training together, and I don’t think it’s lost on me how intentional God was in bringing us together.

To now stand beside each other doing work that we both believe can transform the lives of children and families is something I’m incredibly grateful for.

The feedback from today reminded me why this work matters. We’re not just teaching strategies—we’re challenging systems to see children differently, respond differently, and ultimately create environments where vulnerable children can heal through relationship. by @dariuslamarspeaks

Two years ago on my birthday, I did something that was incredibly meaningful to me.

I hosted a TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) workshop where we explored trauma, foundational concepts for understanding the brain, and the development of relational attachment.

My hope for that four-hour workshop was simple: to share education and awareness around information that has genuinely changed and transformed my life—and the way I build relationships with everyone around me.

Looking back, I’m grateful for everyone who showed up and gave me the opportunity to share what I’ve learned. My hope has always been that it would be helpful in their own personal lives, their relationships, and the way they navigate family and friendships.

Thinking about doing a Part 2. 👀

One of my favorite parts of this work is seeing how trauma-informed care can strengthen every corner of the child-serving system.

This week I had the opportunity to train professionals who support children and families through kinship placement. We explored practical TBRI strategies that help build connection, increase felt safety, and support regulation in everyday interactions.

Every room is different, but the mission stays the same: equip people with tools they can take back and use immediately. by @dariuslamarspeaks

Doing what I love while loving what I do. 🙏🏾 Nothing brings me more joy than helping professionals scaffold their understanding of trauma-informed concepts and implementation — exploring how to integrate TBRI into practice and organizational culture across sectors like foster care, juvenile justice, human trafficking, and school systems. by @dariuslamarspeaks

Thankful to celebrate another birthday, I appreciate every text, call, and gift that was sent. 🙏🏾 Special shoutout to friends who were able to pull up at such short notice, thank yall fr. ✊🏾 by @dariuslamarspeaks

🚀 I started this journey with a simple job application submission. Little did I know how transformative the journey would be for me and the world. 🌍
🙏 Grateful to serve as a TBRI Mentor and assist professionals and organizations on their journey to serve children, families, and adults through Trust-Based Relational Intervention. ❤️ by @dariuslamarspeaks
