📚ARC review of Carved in Shadows by AL Jackson.

If I had to sum up Elena & Trevan’s story in emojis, it would be these: 🐌🔥😮‍💨🫠🤭🥵😖😳😠😢😭🥰

The sloooooowwwww burn between Elena & Trevan had me frustrated on several occasions 😂. I was practically screaming at them to just make it happen already! I loved how Elena knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to express it, especially to those closest to her.

Watching Elena spread her wings, gain more independence, and finally get to live life on her own terms was so uplifting. It was lovely seeing her embrace what she wanted rather than simply accepting what was expected of her.

I also understood why Trevan was so hesitant to pursue something more serious with Elena. Between his feelings of unworthiness, his oath to Silas, and his loyalty to the Crimson Crows, he had so much holding him back. The angst, the push and pull, and the undeniable magnetic pull between him and Elena were PALPABLE. The tension had me going through every emotion! 😂

Thank you AL Jackson & Valentine PR for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.

Happy National Author’s Day!! I’m a few days late 😬 (November 1) with my post . Don’t care 😆🤣.

I wanted to shine a spotlight on one of my favorite dark romance authors.

I discovered Luna Mason scrolling through my feed on Facebook back in 2024. I came across a blurb for Chaos, the first book in the Beneath The Secrets series. What grabbed me was reading the POV of the MMC Jax Carter when he reveals sleeping with his brother’s wife on the wedding night!!! I enjoy reading messy AF stories 🤣.

I immediately download the book to my Kindle app & start to read. I was hooked by the first chapter! What was not to love: A boxer who works for the Bratva dynasty, rides a motorcycle, and has tattoos!!

What impressed me most about Chaos was how Luna portrayed Jax’s struggle to navigate the overwhelming weight of the trauma, grief, and losses he had endured throughout his life. From Chapter 1, with the devastating loss of his best friend, Kai, Luna established just how deeply that loss would affect him.

What stood out was that Luna never glossed over Jax’s pain or allowed his grief to become a mere footnote in the story. Instead, she went all in, giving us an unfiltered look at his struggles as he tried to navigate everyday life while mourning Kai.

He was simultaneously preparing for boxing matches, confronting unresolved issues from his past, falling for Sofia, and carrying out his duties as a soldier within the Bratva empire.

Luna beautifully captured the reality of trying to keep moving forward when you’re still carrying so much hurt inside. Jax wasn’t simply expected to push through his trauma; we got to experience the emotional weight of everything he was battling behind the scenes.

That depth made his character, his struggles, and his journey all the more compelling.

The spicy scenes are undeniably steamy, with the main characters getting lost in the passion and pleasure of the moment.

But what makes them even more enjoyable are the little moments of humor, lightheartedness, and vulnerability woven throughout. Those playful exchanges add another layer of intimacy, making their chemistry feel just as genuine and endearing as it is sexy. by @darkromancechica

ARC 📖 REVIEW OF UNCHAINED ⛓️‍💥 by Luna Mason

📖: 4.5 ⭐️
🌶️: 5 ⭐️

Once again, Luna Mason has woven the cowboy & mafia genres seamlessly!!

UNCHAINED brings us the story of Colton Sterling & Gianna Milano in an arranged marriage from Hell or Heaven 😳😱🤭???

Gianna - fierce, mischievous, loyal, spitfire FMC who brokers the arranged marriage with Colton as a strategic move to help her mafia family’s survival.

Colton Sterling - A grumpy cowboy & mafia underboss, protective, loyal & loving brother & uncle MMC who slowly realizes that he has met his other half of his soul in Gianna Milano. He falls hard & fast!

Both main characters brought out so much emotion and passion to each another.

I enjoyed reading how Colton was able to peel back the layers of her Gianna’s hard shell. There is so much depth to Gianna!

Gianna is the perfect foil to Colton’s grumpiness. With her practical jokes and wicked banter, she reveals to Colton that life can have its own special moments to enjoy and revel in.

The vulnerability Gianna and Colton share with each other in different moments throughout the book packed SO much emotion 🥺🥺🥺. The way they let their guards down and open up to each other made those moments hit even harder. 😭❤️

The SPICE between Gianna & Colton😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨. The MMF scene is a treat!

@valentine_pr_ and @authorlunamason thank you so much for the opportunity to read the ARC of Unchained!
