Daughters and Sons of Borikén rises from the spirit of Puerto Rico’s independence struggle and stands against oppression where ever the fight takes us
POSTS STORIES REELS
(P. 6) On July 11th, 2026, @daughtersandsonsofboriken organized a rally from the Intrepid Museum to the Army Recruiting Center at Times Square and mobilized in solidarity with @madrescontralaguerra, who mobilized simultaneously in Ceiba, PR, against a military base and called on @daughtersandsonsofboriken across the diaspora and on New Yorkers to protest the remilitarization of Puerto Rico and its current use as a springboard to invade sister nations from Cuba and Venezuela to Palestine. by @daughtersandsonsofboriken
Last night @Daughtersandsonsofboriken were present for the unveiling of Don Pedro Albizu Campos portrait at the Harvard club of New York. It took a vigilant effort many phone calls and emails by Daughters and Sons to make sure there was a borikua presence that lives in the spirit of what Don Pedro lived for worked for and ultimately died for at this unveiling!! After finally reaching the Director of the event we were invited to attend. Our public statement is this, though the portrait was beautiful and powerful and thier were some incredible panelists there was a lack of actual education on the life of Don Pedro, their was redundancy of the obvious and very little mention of the United States torture tactics that plagued Don Pedro during his incarceration. Keep in mind this is not an honor bestowed upon Don Pedro by Harvard University it is soley the Harvard Club of New York that is acknowledging our national hero. On a positive note the ex mayor of San Juan Carmen Yulin Cruz whose leadership during hurricane Maria is something we will always admire and cherish was absolutely incredible last night!! Her words were healing as well as inspiring she in our opinion was the highlight of the event outside of the portrait itself!! We do appreciate the Harvard club of New York for the tribute to someone who does not get the recognition nor adulation he so much deserves and were honored to be invited to such a beautiful event. "Por que temer? Temor al destierro, al presidio, al calabozo, a al muerte ...todo es preferible a ser esclavo." -Pedro Albizu Campos Daughters and Sons of Boriken "A la orden" by @daughtersandsonsofboriken
SOLD OUT 🇵🇷 NYC 🗽JUNE 29th ✨Every people deserve the right to tell their own story. For Puerto Ricans, the struggle for dignity, identity, and self-determination has never been confined to politics… it’s lived through culture, memory, and the stories we choose to preserve. Mataron a Pedro is a shortfilm that reminds us that resistance isn’t only fought in the streets. It’s also carried through conviction, sacrifice, and the courage to refuse silence. Join us at People’s Church in New York for an intimate viewing + conversation around a short film that invites us to reflect on liberation, faith, and what it means to stand firm in the face of oppression. This is more than a movie night. It’s a space to remember, to question, and to imagine a freer future together. 📍 The People’s Church 📅 June 29th 🕖 6:30pm LINK 🔗 IN BIO https://luma.com/im3mwpgd NOTE: SPACES ARE LIMITED Que la memoria nos mueva. There would be no Young Lords movement as we know it without women. Their leadership, vision, sacrifices, and determination helped build its foundation, shape its direction, and carry the struggle forward. Their contributions are woven into the very history of the movement and continue to reach far beyond it. This Saturday, October 24, The People’s Church in El Barrio will honor five remarkable women: Denise Oliver Vélez, Minerva Solla, Cleo Silvers, Connie Cruz, and Dr. Johanna Fernández. An opportunity to recognize their journeys, celebrate their contributions, and acknowledge the lasting impact they have made on our history and the generations that followed. ¡Pa’lante, siempre pa’lante! ✊🏽💜 📍 The People’s Church | 163 E. 111th St., NYC 📅 Saturday, October 24, 2026 🕑 2 PM – 5 PM #YoungLords #Palante #RevolutionaryWomen #WomenInTheStruggle #YoungLordsHistory by @daughtersandsonsofboriken

Happy Indigenous Day to all my brothers and sisters whose land this is and will always be!! Daughters and Sons 'A la Orden' by @daughtersandsonsofboriken
Yesterday evening alongside @lilah.mejia @neyl_bx @cultura.pa.lante and @theboricollective we executed a counter action against protesters looking to remove a beautiful mural from the @sixthstreetcc community center!! It was a successful action that led to the potential protesters being forced to leave without getting one word out. The power of the drum drowned out the vicious insults and remarks being thrown at us and eventually led to thier protest being completely shutdown!!! The power of protest works mi gente!! Daughters and Sons 'A la Orden' by @daughtersandsonsofboriken
This summer Daughters and Sons of Boriken took to the streets in defense of Palestine, Puerto Rico,Cuba and Venezuela however we felt compelled to make sure everyone from the Intrepid where we began our action to Times Square where we ended it EVERYONE in NYC heard Nolan Wells name!!! He did not drown he was murdered and we demand justice!! Daughters and Sons 'A la Orden' by @daughtersandsonsofboriken
