SAN DIEGO BOUND 🌴☀️

We found out this morning that David matched into Critical Care Fellowship at UCSD for his final phase of his training!

We’re so thankful for our time at Stanford and all the people, experiences, and growth that came with it. While we’ll miss this chapter, we’re excited for new adventures ahead!

I am so proud of you, David. ❤️ and proud of us, too. We’ve been on this long, exhausting, educational journey together for the last 10 years. Countless conversations about future plans, balancing parenting, work schedules, and what’s best for our family, while making the most of the little time off together, and navigating all that life has thrown at us along the way. Anyone who has a resident spouse or is a resident parent feels this deeply.

It’s hard to believe we’re finally here - with the last phase of this part of life in sight!

I’m so thankful we have been in this together and feeling incredibly grateful and excited for what’s next!

Swipe to see David’s first time coming home after intubating a patient 🤣 (med school). I promise he has come a long way since then and anyone who finds themselves needing his expertise would be incredibly blessed to be in his care (trust me…that means a lot coming from a nurse).

Here’s to making the most out of our last year at Stanford 🌲❤️

Our hearts are so full.

With so much joy, we welcomed Josiah Francis Helfer, December 7th morning.

He has already lived up to his name and is everything we’ve prayed for. Theodore, we are so thankful Josiah gets to be passionately loved by you 💕😂 by @david_helfer21

Getting ready for Fall! Little guy is almost 6 months. @madison_helfer, no more blinking…it’s already going by too fast! by @david_helfer21

Last weekend we welcomed into our lives Theodore Jacob Helfer. Although he may not look as happy to be here as we are to have him, I hope some day he realizes how much he is loved.

Birthing a child is a wild experience. I’m in aw of @madison_helfer. Thank you to our friends on Labor and Delivery for making it extra special.
