🫀 🐋 FRIDAY LINEUP DROP 🐋 🫀 We are excited to have dawning play on Friday, November 6th at Basic City! dawning draws inspiration from the natural world to write songs focused on love, heartbreak, & the cycles of life. a wandering soul, she has traveled across the US several times, including a national tour in 2019. she collects stories & emotions along the highways & forgotten corners of rural America, weaving them into songs that focus on acceptance & honest self-expression. her music is a reflection & tribute to specific places she's been, as well as the sense of placelessness that follows her everywhere she goes. @dawning______ @basiccitybeerco_rva #rvamusic #richmondfolkfestival #queermusic #folkmusicfestival #folkartist by @dawning______
“any kind of folk for any folk to hear” is an idea that i looked to early on when first planning to launch anyfolk here in rva, and last week’s show was the epitome of that idea. folk music doesn’t all have to sound one way, in fact i think anyfolk is at its best when you get a little bit of everything in the line up, and even better when every artist brings their a-game. i’ve been so astounded lately by the numbers of you who are showing up show after show. thank you for being part of another great one. the next anyfolk is coming up in 9/2 at väsen forest hill. 6 pm social hour • 7 pm music • FREE. hope to see you there, 🫶 @tymeach 🎙️ Artists in order of appearance: @dcestrada1 @missangelbird_ @slamuelray @samigardner_ @mjwinnmusic @dawning______

@fishtank.rva last night was 🔥🔥. And not just because the A/C wasn’t working that well…. There was so much stuff - bows and pedals and flutes and screaming feedback (on purpose and by accident) and pieces of metal dropped onto thinner pieces of metal. @skybluemirror @beatricekelly0457 and @dawning______ sounded awesome and brought so much personality to the “stage” at @studiotwothree. They gelled so well, especially considering they’d never met each other until last night. Can’t wait for the next one! . . . #improvisedsounds #noisemusic #uprightbass #guitarpedals #flutepedals by @dawning______
Super excited to have songwriter/improviser/multi-instrumentalist @dawning______ at @fishtank.rva on Monday! She sent me a sizzle reel of recent performances and I picked a few to share with you. Guitar? Accordion? Collaborations? You bet! Vocal loops with pedals and ethereal ambient drones? You better believe it. Maybe even some flute? Who knows. Come on down to @studiotwothree at 8 pm to find out. She’ll be joined by @beatricekelly0457 and @skybluemirror. Don’t miss out! by @dawning______
