This is what you get when you have four seasoned Salon owners/managers in a room, with the best Beauty industry expert on Long Island! You never know what we are going to talk about! Welcome to SOS: Salon Owners Society! As we all chatted together at a recent @prettylocal.li event, we realized that we are not alone…Other beauty professionals and owners are feeling the same stress, and we decided to create our own version of therapy, through conversation… This is a forum of long standing stylist/owner/managers discussing the trials and tribulations of what it’s like to run a beauty salon. We share insight and stories about our experiences of leading a team, surviving through difficult times, and navigating our ever changing industry, all while still working behind the chair! @ali_artz_ @dawnlstylist @christinecarlton518 @superhairo_nikkicestaro 🎥: @thatsawrapproductions Stay tuned for more! #beautysalon #salonowner #beautybusiness #salonsecrets #podcast by @dawnlstylist
64grams of custom-blended perfection for my favorite girl 🥹✨ Hand-made encapsulated K-tips using Italian keratin. We used Slavic single donor bundles in 3 different textures ,strong wave, fine wave and coarser curly. This created the ultimate volume and density. Nothing but the best for my girl! 🫶✨ What do we think of this transformation? #ktipextensions #hairextensions #singledonorhair #momlife #longislandstylist by @dawnlstylist
There’s something so great about sharing knowledge and collaborating with other stylists who love this industry as much as you do! There’s always something new to learn, and we can learn so much from each other. Let’s keep supporting, sharing, and showing love for our industry. There’s room for all of us to grow! If you’re experiencing hair loss, going through cancer treatment, or dealing with hair loss for any reason, go see Jeanette at Gallery Wigs in Miller Place. She specializes in wigs, toppers, and hair replacement solutions, and truly knows her stuff! Trust me, she’s worth the drive! 💜 @gallerywigsandhairenhancements @mondayscancercare @jdthomasandco #hairloss #hairlosssolution #foreverstudent #mondayscancercares by @dawnlstylist
Gen X salon owner behind the chair, and somehow making a Reel is harder than doing hair. Between botox appointments, hot flashes, figuring out trends, and trying to keep up with Gen Z… I deserve an award just for posting. #genx #hairstylist #salonlife #longislandstylist by @dawnlstylist

No one works as hard in the salon than the owner. Yes, it’s our business so most think because we signed up for this mess, we are supposed to… but unless you walk in our shoes and see what really goes into running a small business you will never understand. Payroll, insurance, inventory, hiring/firing, toilet paper, keeping the salon clean, the extra hours we need to put in, all while servicing clients and being the last one to get paid most weeks requires a straight jacket and a cocktail. Then, because “she’s the owner”, some think we shouldn’t receive a gratuity. Stay tuned to more great content from our podcast chat.. #salonowner #smallbusinessowner #hairdresser #salonlife #tipping by @dawnlstylist

Officially introducing… SOS: Salon Owner Society Being a salon owner or manager is no easy task. We struggle, we cry, we drink, and yet we STILL show up. Gathered together, we commiserate on some of the crazy stuff we face, how we pick ourselves up from heartbreak, and methods we use for success. Collectively, we all have decades of experience, and are tired enough to talk about all the hard stuff. We are excited to share our informative conversation with you all, hope you enjoy the ride! by @dawnlstylist

22 inches of perfectly blended ponies for that effortless, lived-in look ✨ * Not every client wants to be on camera or wants everyone knowing they have extensions, and that’s totally okay! They don’t mind us filming as long as we keep their little secret safe We’ll show you the hair, but we’re not exposing the girl. What happens in the chair, stays in the chair!😉 #ktipextensions #hairextensions #longislandstylist #longislandsalon #commacksalon by @dawnlstylist
