Boomer over Boomer therapy is all i need anymore.
Yall can keep the rest. I wish i wouldve had someone passionate alongside for all this when we got into them birds. This was a special one. Tyler really nailed it by saying wild upland bird hunting is blue collar and should remain that way. Being able to throw a dart on the map and take a walk with your dogs is what its all about. I wouldnt trade that experience or raising my children for the world! We have it so much better than many others! Paying someone to give you a shortcut takes all the fun out of it. Its priceless and it has saved my life in many ways. I wouldnt hang this lifestyle up for anything.

Not bad for a 6 month old pup, shes made me proud so far this season.
I took nevaeh for her first quail hunt and Chile managed to find some birds. She got into the first covey 15 yards from where i parked the truck. I did a loop, Came back and was on top of birds. Didnt realize it until she locked up like a statue and i knew she had them. Shes an honest lil gal, aside from her retrieve shes well put together. Zia had a find i shot and crippled and another that flushed before i could get into gun range. #newmexico #bobwhite #quail #setters by @dcastaneda_2

First dusky and it was a big boomer off the rise. These birds are special, and putting the miles in to find them is very humbling. Shot my limit too. #dusky #mountainchicken #englishsetter #birddogn by @dcastaneda_2

Mornings have been cooler, zia is getting tuned up for grouse, and chile dog is following along. Ive seen more birds this past week than i did all of last season. 6 coveys, 4 rabbits, 2 road runners. 10-20 birds per covey chicks and jouveniles intermixed. Should be a good’n. by @dcastaneda_2

Picked up the new pup from greg and got to link up with @jakethomas00 and the gang.. good dude and hell of a sportsman. 👍🏼 #gundog #YungGravy #kansas by @dcastaneda_2

Finally.. an old new mexico rio grande off the tree early morning. From sleeping on ridges in the high country chasing merriams to relocating to lower areas for rios was a spiteful move but having so much pressure in one big area wasnt safe and its hard to enjoy yourself. Called multiple hunters in, got on alot of birds on the same mountain for 3 days. Sometimes going back to the drawing board pays off. #springthunder #riogrande #turkey #Newmexico by @dcastaneda_2

Zias first season was better than expected and its what i asked for. I got to shoot new species, meet new friends and learned alot from training to bird habitat and everything in between. Although i will say finally having the opportunity to meet up with @quail_hawk was special to me in many aspects. Tylers an awesome down to earth dude, Watching them put the smack down on new mexico mearns was something ive never seen and will never forget. Such a beautiful/elusive bird im anxious to spend more time in the field chasing them and simply getting to know them. Till next year! #Newmexico #mearns #montezuma #quail #setters by @dcastaneda_2

My first bobs over zia tortillas point, two coveys got up and i pulled a single from each. She had a complete retrieve of the two. A moment i will never forget. #bobwhite #quail #setters #newmexico #allsick by @dcastaneda_2
