Pinch me moment. I started commuting to New York City in 2009 to work Wednesdays out of my company's headquarters. I'd wake up at 4:45 to catch the 6am train from DC to Penn Station and would walk out to this intersection to get a cab downtown. When that company merged with another company, my entire office got let go, but then I got rehired (after taking the train back up to the headquarters to explain that they had laid off the person with a lot of passwords and CMS know-how). That job ended up leading me to L.A., which eventually led to me making YouTube videos and getting my first book deal.
This week, in that spot I used to walk out into the city from the train, there was a billboard for my sixth book. It was up for a whole week, but only 15 seconds at a time and every 12 minutes, to keep me humble. But it didn't work - I am VERY proud of myself AND
