Few stages of this one,,

Tried a slightly more semi-realistic style for this one, which is quite different from my usual naive, cute illustrations, mostly made for kids.

Just wanted to step out of my usual style and see what happens when I draw a little differently. 🐦‍⬛

Slowly getting back to making things with actual paint and brushes instead of pixels. Feels nice.🌻

I’ve really been enjoying these illustration challenges lately. No big plan, just a theme, some time to draw, and seeing what comes out of it. This one was Hare & Dandelions for #botanicalbeasties2026 🌼🐇

Deer + dahlia, week 1 of #botanicalbeasties2026.

Loving seeing everyone’s take on this prompt so far dahlias are such a fun flower to stylize. Here are three colorways of the same pattern, because it was hard to pick just one.

I’m Shilvia, the person behind dear dot, saying hi properly for once:))

I’ve been designing prints for over 10 years now and I still do this thing where i write out little notes on themes I want to work on or things I’ve been researching, half of them make sense only to me.

I’m not very active on instagram if i’m honest, it’s just not my forte, but this is basically what my day looks like, mood board on the wall, a notebook full of half thoughts, and way too many tabs open somewhere off camera.

anyway, hi again, more soon 🌻 by @deardotstudio

Wanted this print to feel like flipping through a girl’s daydream, butterflies, flowers, rainbows all layered together, nothing meant to stand out more than anything else.

Turns out that’s close to what WGSN’s SS27 forecast is calling collage prints right now. Nice when instinct and the trend report agree✨

Painted this in gouache first, then digitized it and mocked it up on a tee to actually see how it holds up at scale. Genuinely so useful to have this step before presenting a collection, since flat art and a worn print can read very differently.

Have a feeling this one would work just as well on swimwear too. by @deardotstudio

Okay so I finally started turning my notebook florals into an actual repeat 🌸 still messy, still adding bits here and there, but it’s coming together and I like where it is headed. Something tells me this one wants to end up on swimwear…but I’ll still try other options too and see where it looks the best! by @deardotstudio

Lately, I’ve been trying to finish the things I once started with so much excitement.

Today’s palm pattern, imagined as a scarf. I think it’s my favourite way to see this print come to life. 🌴💙✨
