My Mom & Dad raised me with the beauty of my culture: “Never forget where you come from, because that is your identity,” they said. I’m forever grateful for that, because my roots tell my story and the stories of the generations before me.

They also taught me to have respect and to share love. In Biak-Papua, we call this Syowi. This too is an important part of our culture and traditions, something I carry with pride in my heart and will continue to carry with me wherever I go.

My culture, my roots, and my identity are a part of who I am, and I will always be proud of where I come from.

Proud to be Papuan🤎✨ #insosyosina #CenderawasihPapua #papuangirl #lovemyculture #syowi by @deckydevy_love

🇬🇧The bird of paradise stands for freedom, beauty, color, and pride. Its many colors remind us of how rich and diverse our culture is. Every voice carries its own story and its own sound. It is precisely when these voices come together that harmony emerges. Our differences do not create distance, they make us stronger.

#SungaiNilMesir #egypt #cairoegypt #memories #thankful by @deckydevy_love
