The sun is low, your phone is away, and there’s nowhere else to be. 🫒

With ‘Olives’, I wanted to capture that moment at the end of the day. It’s a tribute to the warmth of the afternoon light and the simple joy of a drink in hand.

Cheers to slowing down and savoring the moment!

Nine chocolates. Zero calories.

50 hours of oil paint, brushstrokes, and obsession. Every reflection, shadow, crumb of pink sugar was painted with care.

For me, hyperrealism isn’t just about copying. It’s about recreating the feeling of the moment and making you almost smell the chocolate, imagine the texture in your mouth and taste it through the canvas. Yet always showing the delicious painterly strokes.

Which one is yours? Comment 1–9 👇

Calling this one “Golden hour” 🍺

I wanted to capture the typical Dutch “borrel” culture: beer and bitterballen, served with mustard.

It’s so much more than just the cravings for a snack and a drink. It’s about spending time with friends and family, having a good time, and leaving the week (and possible worries) behind you.

…And a warning: don’t touch the bitterballen too fast 😅

Oil on canvas - 46x55cm - Available through my website.

🍔Juicy, fresh and salty. This is one of my guilty pleasures. My favorite part of this painting would be the closeup on the third pic 😊

🎨 STUDIO STORY WEDNESDAY

A glimpse behind the easel.

Artist Dennis Pfeil (@dennispfeil.art) is currently working on a series of hyperrealistic still lifes that celebrate the beauty hidden within everyday objects.

From the jewel-like seeds of a pomegranate to a box of chocolates, liquorice sweets, and sunlit olives, each painting begins with a familiar subject and transforms it into something extraordinary through light, texture, and observation. Dennis invites us to slow down, look closer, and rediscover the wonder that often goes unnoticed in daily life.

“A pomegranate looks rough from the outside, but once opened and touched by light, its seeds turn it into an opened treasure chest filled with gems. I created this piece as a reminder to slow down and truly look and appreciate how light can transform the everyday into something extraordinary.”

We can’t wait to see these remarkable works come to life.

🦐 I just love it when you can almost count the brush strokes, and see all the juicy paint! Realistic from a distance, and when you get closer a whole new world opens 🫶

Shrimp study - 15x15cm - sold

This sale really touched me, let me tell you why…

When the collector reached out, she told me that the painting immediately put a smile on her face as her kids are huge Lego fans (which means she regularly steps on bricks with her feet).

The idea that this painting will hang in their family home as the kids grow up feels incredibly special to me.

Just imagine decades from now, when they come back to visit with a family of their own, “Golden Memories” will still be hanging on the wall at the home they grew up in.

That’s priceless if you ask me 🤗.

It’s oyster season! 🦪

And when oysters and a brut are served at the start, you know you are in for a gourmet experience. Tchin tchin!

And this is one of my favorite parts of the painting, where you can see the rough strokes on the outer shell, the salty water drop and the fresh lemon. by @dennispfeil.art

Funny how something as ordinary as a piece of candy can bring back a place, a person, or a moment you hadn’t thought about in years.

These sweets are familiar to many of us, but the memories they bring back are personal.
