Muay Thai changed my life 🙏

The best decision I ever made was moving to Thailand to train and fight Muay Thai full-time

It’s introduced me to so many new experiences, countless friends who share the same passion, and a side of this beautiful, historically rich culture that I otherwise would never have experienced

Most importantly, it’s given me a sport and lifestyle that I absolutely love

I’m now in the second half of my fight career, but I feel stronger, faster, and smarter than I did during the first half

Follow along with my journey if you’re stuck in a rut and see how this mature fighter stays in shape, balances a full-time banking career with his sporting career and how he holds his own against the young up-and-comers in the ring 👊

Low kicks don’t work in Muay Thai 🤦‍♂️

Just lift your leg up and block them 🤷‍♂️

Don’t spam low kicks and save energy 👌

(This is a joke Liam, I’ve felt 10% of your low kick through a shinguard and it destroyed me for an entire day 🥴)

This is why PROPER training with PROPER coaches is SO important for your Muay Thai development

It’s not easy being a pro fighter.

It’s definitely not easy being a pro fighter OVER the age of 30.

Yet I still CHOOSE to wake up everyday and pursue this life because I love Muay Thai and fitness.

Some days are definitely harder than others, but the good days outweigh the bad BY FAR.

To the person reading this who thinks they’re too old to pursue whatever your dream is, you’re not. Stop using age as an excuse and just start.

Been training hard, it’s gonna be a great fight. Come support me 🙏 by @deren.muaythai

Old man strength is REAL… but strength isn’t the only reason older fighters stay dangerous.

Timing. Experience. Patience. Knowing when to make someone pay for a mistake - those come from years in the gym.

Youth has speed (maybe), but experience knows how to control the fight.

Go check out the new Apex movie on @netflix if you haven’t already 👀
