Meet Destiney, a 2026 Run Nash Ambassador! 🏃‍♀️✨

A Nashville native with a huge heart for her community, @destineypatton93 found running in 2023 and it quickly became a big part of her personal, professional, and spiritual journey.

From serving on the board of @gotrmidtn to starting @weareruncity at her church, she’s passionate about creating spaces where people can discover the joy of running. She and her mom have made it their goal to run a half marathon in every state, 38 states down! 👏

This year, Destiney has shifted her focus from personal goals to investing in the journeys of her run club members. Every race brings someone’s first finish line, and she loves experiencing the joy of running through their eyes.

Next up? Chasing a sub-4:30 marathon at the @everywomansmarathon while cheering on 15 friends running their first marathon! 💪

Today is Global Running Day. If you know me, you know that running is a huge part of my life. It allowed me to become an athlete again after illness tried to take that away, it allows my mom and me to explore the country together as we work towards a half marathon in each state, it allows me to achieve things I never thought possible, it allows me and others to impact the lives of young girls through support of @gotrmidtn, and through races and @fleetfeetnashville, I’ve met great friends in this wonderful running community.

This past year, running unlocked something different and even more impactful for me. Last September, @michaela_marie322 and I started @weareruncity. Little did we know how much this group would change us and so many others! Through this special run club, running has now become my form of ministry - we are all growing in our running and our faith. I get to combine my love of God and running and use running as a form of worship. If that wasn’t enough, Run City has brought me so many friends (many I would consider family!) that I probably wouldn’t have had if it weren’t for this run group.

Tonight, about 50 of us will celebrate Global Running Day at Fleet Feet’s Big Run, where about 10 of our members will run their first 5K and most thought that was never possible for them.

Running builds community, running challenges our limiting beliefs, and I believe it changes lives!

This week at @weareruncity ! Thursday started with a lesson on stretching ourselves because stretching is not a reaction to growth; it’s a requirement for it. We are stretching our faith, obedience, discipline and mindset.
We then ran up 12 South for a mural run.

On Saturday, Run City took on the @dairydashrace where several of our 33 runners ran their first race ever, 6 finished top 3 in their age groups, and our cheering squad brought joy and encouragement to everyone on the course!

Just a week ago, I completed my first @rundisney Dopey Challenge. Four days of races, four days of waking up at 3am (ET) to rush to the start line, four days of getting way too many steps. This racing weekend was very different than my normal running adventures. It wasn’t about my finish times (which I couldn’t even tell you what they were), but it was about making memories that Strava could never capture. I wore the costumes, stopped for character photos, ran through all four WDW parks, made new running friends, rode the roller coasters, danced my way back on the course, and completed all 48.6 of the miles!

As challenging as last weekend was, I wish it was time to do it again.

Girls on the Run is so much fun! We had a blast at the @gotrmidtn Sneaker Soiree last night. I wish I would have taken more photos, but we definitely enjoyed ourselves at the 360 Photo Booth! ✅Run down the Spearfish Canyon for my 34th half marathon state

✅ Visit two more @nationalparkservice parks and a monument (@badlandsnps , @windcavenps, @mountrushmorenps) and a state park that should be another National Park in @custerstateparksd

✅ Watch wildlife like bison and prairie dogs that you can’t find in Nashville

✅ Learn more about history at @crazyhorsememorial

✅ Have a little fun!

@weareonecity summer City Groups ended last week, and I have really missed my Child of God group this week! For six weeks we enjoyed fun activities that helped us embrace our inner child while improving our child like faith by exploring topics like curiosity, obedience, joy, trust, and wonder. I’m so blessed to have built some wonderful relationships within this group, and I’m so grateful for @missjaesquared for leading the group with me! Thank you @weareonecity for making city groups such a big focus for our growth and fellowship! by @werunnash
