⚡️Sci-FI Cover Reveal⚡️
There was an idea. To bring together a group of writers who could dream of aliens, robots, and other godly beings and bring them down to a reality closer to ours.

The result was Deus EX Manila, a new PH Sci-Fi anthology where gods of science and other worlds meet the discords of reality.

Mermaids have traditionally been understood as sea-based creatures who navigate between the ocean and the land.

Many authors in the diaspora also navigate boundaries, submerge to the depths, and rise up with new ideas.

If these concepts spark your imagination, please help us build this collection.

The stories of the Sirena are about humanity's needs, desires, imaginations, and intentions and are of and pertaining to the ocean, the sea, the islets and bays, the shores, and waterfalls and rivers—here and in other worlds or other planets.

Our kinfolk water-creatures might exist in our home village, on a busy Manila or San Francisco street, or in the ever-flowing Milky Way.

DILIM is not darkness: it exists between light and shadow to illuminate hidden realms of the archipelago.

mini review: 🤖 𝘿𝙚𝙪𝙨 𝙀𝙭 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙖 by @deusxmnl

Finished reading a few minutes ago. This Pinoy Sci-Fi Anthology has 7 short stories, and here are my top 3:

⭐️ "Mimic" by Vittena Vibar
- I loved the writing in this one and how the young protagonists were shown. Tobby and Oskar are cute little geniuses. The ending was very different from what I was expecting.

⭐ "Skin Deep" by Cris Mari
- I found this zombie story unexpectedly hilarious (but I'm not sure if it was supposed to be). Cris Mari is the only author in this anthology that I have read before and I consistently enjoy her work.

⭐ "The Space Between Distances" by Carmel Ilustrisimo
- This was the most intriguing! Especially since it's a prequel to a future novel. It's definitely something to look out for. This one's about space travel and motherhood.

Overall this was an interesting collection. Thank you again for my copy @bookchickasph and @deusxmnl ! And to @readloveirie for bringing it to our reading meetup 💛

Deus Ex Manila (DXM) would like to thank everyone who joined our cozy and intimate Sci-Fi Sunday afternoon at the Stacks with Packing Sheets! We had a great time sharing our stories, influences, and upcoming projects, as well as asking the audience their favorite sci-fi titles!

Many of them were also surprised Filipino Sci-Fi does exist, and that is what we are trying to bring to the readers: That there are more Pinoy stories out there than just romance, horror, or fantasy. Yes, sci-fi is a niche, but it's a niche worth fighting for.

A big congrats to the raffle winners, and thanks to those who bought a copy of our books and merch as well!

Shoutout to Maryann and the PS staff for the amazing support 💪
