I love my Red Deer. She is my favorite motif of mine. She is passion and thought and love and power and peace all in one. This was the first time in a long time I used mixed media elements in a piece and I am obsessed with how it has allowed me to show texture and change much more clearly than using just oil paints. More to come in 2026 ❤️

Blue Woman II (2025)

This concept came to me in a vision and she had to come to life. The concept of the Blue Woman has been an inspiration for me for years; I’ve made a short film about her in the past. The blue is represented as her internal death but she is very much living although she has a sense of ghostlyness in her blue color. In this piece she’s contemplating, and thinking about why she feels this way and how she continues to live with this feeling of already dying. She’s very much alive but holds a sense of her past self’s under her flesh.

I don’t often use acrylic paint but for this piece it felt right since I wanted there to be a concept of time moving quickly amongst her stillness. I found the canvas on the side of the road and painted over the existing colors, which adds to the layered look in the background as well as texture. It emphasizes the feeling of movement in her mind and body throughout her days, although she is psychically still in her thoughts during the depicted moment. by @devonmcknight_

Lone (2026)

The red deer has been a concept of focus for me for months now, but I found combining its imagery and symbolism with more abstract movements and design as well as brutalist influences creates a piece that more aligns with my current fascinations; concrete, water stains and rusted materials. The red deer symbolizes strength while staying curious and gentle. The environment it lives in, in this piece is clouded and unknown, yet the deer remains protected. This is one of the largest pieces I’ve done and it was a magical experience having to use so much of my bodies physicality to create my vision. 🦌🕊️

Red is my favorite color. It’s delicious.
This piece was formed unlike my other work because I did not think about it I felt it. Rather than planning out a piece, as I usually do, my emotions one summer night a few years back led me to the canvas and ‘RED’ was formed. It’s the purest painting I’ve ever done. While laying in my bed I stare at it, becoming lost in its depths. Maybe that’s what I look like on the inside?

The Magic Bird (2025) 🕊️

She started as an eagle and morphed into a bird similar to a dove. The combination of both. She is power and strength with peace and love.

Rose

This one isn’t that deep. It was a technique challenge for myself based upon an idea that popped in my brain. Although the final product is NOT what my original concept was, I learned so much from this project. Be adaptable. Be open to change. A flaw is not a flaw forever and can actually bring something better than expected. Besides my drama I do just love this one aesthetically. The smoothness is so delicious. This hangs over my bed.
