POSTS STORIES REELS

Hello to everybody who has ever tried to silence me or vilify my artistry when I use my voice to speak out 👋

I’m feeling very inspired after the @poetryinmotion.wlg Slam last night. I had two very powerful wāhine on either side of me ~ @lo_aleen & @nikaoreph ~ & they reminded me of the power of bravery, if it was something I could ever forget. The energy in that room, every performer & audience member, reemphasised for me what one person & their words can do when they’re not afraid of the abusers & bureaucracies who try to bully them into a silence that only serves the status quo of men who do not deserve the power they lord over the communities they actively harm.

I also had a fellow survivor share their story with me, & thank me for using my voice to speak up for those who can’t. This is why I do what I do. This is why I will not stay quiet. This is why I tell the truth. Because it is not just my truth, it is ours, & I stand up on behalf of something so much bigger than just one little woman with a whole lot of lore.

So if any corporations would like to take on a whole community ~ you can come & get me 🔥 by @devonwebbnz

Slam competitions are a great place to feel angry about social injustice & tell the truth about our lived experiences ~ which is exactly what I’ll be doing this Saturday at the Wellington Regional Slam 🎤 I hope all my smear campaigners feel as scared as survivors do when they know the kind of trauma, victim-blaming & public humiliation they’ll be subjected to if they speak out ~ unfortunately for the Institution & its d!ckriders, the attempts of any multinational corporations to intimidate me into silence have been unsuccessful, because they bureaucratically bullied the wrong ✨poet✨ & I have this terrible habit of not shutting up about things certain people in undeserved positions of power want me to shut up about, & sometimes it qualifies me for Slam competitions! 🗣️

Come see tea get clocked this Saturday, 7pm at the National Library ~ tickets & details in the @poetryinmotion.wlg bio ✍️ by @devonwebbnz

been thinking a lot lately about my relationship with sex…… & I’ve decided that if you’re not astral-fucking me so good I write poems like this, I don’t want it. currently embracing conscious celibacy! I’ve had to deal with too much external energetic projection distorted through the medium of my body & I don’t have space for it anymore. yes I’m beautiful & erotic & my body is art but it’s art behind glass. look but don’t touch unless you’re the davinci with the brush ✨ by @devonwebbnz
