How I became a hairstylist. 🤍

I don’t share too much of my personal life on here, but this one definitely hits a little deeper.

The road that brought me here wasn’t an easy one. There were moments I felt lost, unsure of myself, and far from where I thought I was supposed to be.

But looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it. Every hard chapter shaped me into the person I was meant to become.

Seven years of being a hairstylist, and I thought it would have been easier, but it definitely has been challenging in a different way. I still wouldn’t trade it for the world.

The people who have sat in my chair over the years have given me so much more than I ever expected. In so many ways, you’ve been part of my healing, too.

And for that, I’ll always be grateful. 💕✨ by @dianaleehair

Fresh colour + 3-row reinstall ✨
One full year in the same feather knot extensions.

Blonde had its moment… bronde is here to stay 🤎

The transformation was worth every minute 🧜🏻‍♀️

I love it when I get to do both the colour and the featherlight extensions. 2 days, 6 hours each day!

I’m in love with this! Pftt speechless! 😶 by @dianaleehair

Grey blending at its finest ✨

We custom-matched her natural grey pattern so everything flows seamlessly. Now, instead of another bleach session, she can simply tint her greys to blend with her highlights for the next year — keeping her hair healthier and a bit more lower-maintenance. 💫 by @dianaleehair

I'm obsessed with how this colour turned out!
Cashmere blonde vibes with a gradient face frame action for the win! 🤎🤍

Hello everyone! 🤍

I’ve been seeing lots of new faces here, so I wanted to reintroduce myself!

I’ve been doing hair for almost 8 years, and while becoming a hairstylist was one adventure, staying in this industry has been another. 😂 There are days I still wonder if I’m cut out for this. Impostor syndrome is REAL!

I’ve spent a lifetime feeling like I don’t quite fit in and this industry can sometimes make you feel like that's amplified. You’d think my skin would be thicker by now after 40 something years of life, but here we are! 😂😅

I care deeply about hair health, so I’m always looking for ways to achieve your vision while protecting your hair as much as possible. The irony of my job is that many of the services we offer can potentially compromise it. So sometimes that means a different approach, and sometimes it means being honest about the compromises. You deserve to understand both sides before making a decision!

I also value open communication. If something isn’t quite right, I want us to be able to talk about it and find a solution together. I’m human, and sometimes we see the same vision differently. Communication is everything! 🤍

And if you get to know me, you’ll learn I think I’m pretty funny (even when I’m sad 😂), and sarcasm wins my heart every time.

Thank you for trusting me with your hair and supporting my little business. And to all the new faces, I hope to welcome you into my chair soon! 🤍

I get comments like this from time to time for the Featherlight method, so I think it’s worth clarifying a few things.

First, this person wasn’t my client, and I wasn’t involved in her installation or removal. While many providers offer similar feather type hair extension methods, application, technique and level of care can vary significantly and not in a good way. We definitely need to see things done better!

Bottom line, ANY HAIR EXTENSION method can cause damage if it isn’t properly installed, maintained or removed. Removal should always be performed by someone trained and experienced in that specific method. Having someone unfamiliar with the technique remove the extensions can typically cause more harm than good and ultimately blaming the method in question.

One bad experience doesn’t define an entire method. The provider’s experience, technique and client's aftercare all matter. When researching extensions, look beyond the finished result and ask to see grow-outs, too.

I’ve been trained in several extension methods have continued to refine my approach to better protect the health and integrity of the natural hair with all methods.

Can any of them still cause damage? Absolutely. No method is risk-free. That’s why proper installation, removal and at-home aftercare are so important. Finding a provider that cares about hair health & integrity is equally important.

I’m proud of how my own clients’ natural hair has held up with the Featherlight method in particular. All these ladies showcased here wore the extensions for at least a year or more!

Embracing your greys doesn’t mean you have to go fully grey! 🤍

Grey blending softens the contrast between your natural greys and existing colour for a more seamless look.

This client had her lightening session at the beginning of the year and has been coming in every 12 weeks for maintenance instead of 4-6 weeks with a traditional root touch up! This was her second grey blending root tint since her initial session!

A softer, lower-maintenance way to transition into your greys without fully committing to the change. by @dianaleehair

I promise you, I only want the best for your hair.

But I’ve noticed something: when people actually follow the recommended aftercare, their hair looks freaking amazing.

I’m not trying to sell you anything, I swear. I only carry a handful of products in my salon suite, and it's priced lower than you’ll find elsewhere, so that’s not the motivation here.

I just want you to have the best hair possible — especially when we’re bleaching it.

Hair is fragile, and bleached hair is even more fragile. What you do at home between appointments makes a huge difference. 🤍 by @dianaleehair
