Episode 1 is out from my conversation with @martinmyersct for the Business of Entertainment on Cape Talk. Episode 2 will air on Thursday December 12 at 9pm SA time. I’ll share both links in my bio if you’re interested in hearing more about what I discovered in the course of reporting on the SA music industry. by @diananeille

Thank you @musicexchangect and @martinmyersct for having me in Cape Town this weekend to talk about my investigative reporting on the South African music industry. There is a clear path to reforming this broken, colonial system. It’s time to put music makers at the centre of a clean, transparent and technologically efficient economy that works for them, and not exclusively for corrupt intermediaries at record labels and collective management organisations. 💪 by @diananeille

I’ll be speaking at @musicexchangect in Cape Town at the end of the month about my recent investigative reporting for @dailymaverick on intermediary impunity in the South African music industry, how it’s crippled the sector for decades and what changes could and should put music makers at the core of the business, where they belong. Join me and @martinmyersct in conversation at the Fire & Ice Hotel on November 30! by @diananeille

My latest on the music industry. If you’re a South African music maker, this one is for you. Link in bio. by @diananeille
