We are delighted to present the cover reveal & pre-order page for DISOBEDIENT FUTURES: AN ANTHOLOGY (University Press of Kentucky, May 4, 2027). DISOBEDIENT FUTURES, edited by Rita Banerjee, Diana Norma Szokolyai, and Corrine Previte, is a speculative literature anthology that imagines what the future cultures of America and the world might look like through a diverse, inclusive, and multi-genre lens. The anthology includes fiction, poetry, nonfiction, hybrid work, art, and photography that explore utopian, dystopian, and alternative realities, futuristic places, and parallel histories through the perspectives of disobedient gender, disobedient identities, disobedient class, disobedient borders, and disobedient environmentalism. DISOBEDIENT FUTURES aims to foster new modes of critical inquiry and invites readers to play and imagine thought-provoking and more inclusive possibilities for the future. Join us for the official book launch of Pieces of Salem: An Anthology of Salem Voices! EVENT DETAILS Location: Sophia Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts, SSU North Campus Time: Sunday, September 20, 2:00-4:00 PM by @diananormas
The September afternoon joy/ of harvesting goldenrod/ the bumblebees barely remembering the cold to come/ honey drunk on the powdery pillows/ of the dog days of summer dreams/ I pick and wrap a bundle for me/ a bundle for a friend/ the twine makes a taut promise/ to put away for a November tea/ when all colors will be sleeping/ and the stick season of my garden will begin/ I’ll save some for a tincture/ with my purple skirted echinacea / dancing her way into autumn/ saying …follow me to my earthy nostalgia/. —a little plucked poem from the garden, sharing a quick first draft to practice vulnerability. Thank you for reading. #garden #poetry #september by @diananormas
It was lovely to read with fellow poets from Pieces of Salem: An Anthology of Salem Voices (edited by @j.d.scrimgeour) at Old Town Hall. Feeling grateful to be part of a community where poetry is alive and people will sit in a sweltering room with no AC in August for three hours to hear poetry and stories centered around our weirdly fabulous haunt of a New England city with townie vibes. Thanks to these true blues @gilselinger @shaferdennis @graceharringtonmurdoch @girlondwyer @winegirl69420 B, and Arlo for sticking around in the heat to hear me read my poem! #salem #poetry #salempoets #piecesofsalem #poetsofinstagram by @diananormas

So grateful for my friends @graceharringtonmurdoch and @zenovia1111 Thank you for capturing these nice moments playing in the waves 🌊 under the Strawberry 🍓 Moon 🌕 #fullmoon #strawberrymoon by @diananormas
Hope everyone got to enjoy the Strawberry Moon tonight. It was an absolutely beautiful moonrise from our view on the beach. Thanks @graceharringtonmurdoch for the invitation…it was a lovely, spontaneous hang with @zenovia1111 too. Thanks to @emergewithmel for creating the space to gather and for leading the meditation. I love how the group formed from a combination of old friends’ word of mouth, passersby curiosity, and formal invitations, and how a sound healer just happened to be set up there already. What a wonderful basket of strawberries, stories and laughs we passed around under the moon 🌕. I will take the quiet spaces in between home with me too, to snack on during this fire horse June. #strawberrymoon #fullmoon by @diananormas
