Didier goes full finesse mode to target a big, wary perch 🔥

Tough conditions, fish glued to the bottom… time to slow it down and adapt 🎯

A few subtle twitches, a natural fall… and suddenly 👉 BIG strike 💥

Beautiful pike caught by Didier on big lakes, in perfect conditions for fishing large soft baits 🔥

👉 Winning strategy: slow and steady retrieve with a Rockvibe Shad, targeting key holding zones like drop-offs and weed edges.
The strong vibration of the shad triggered the strike from an active but cautious fish.

🎣 Gear used:
• X1 7’7” XXH rod
• FAT RVS 6.5” – color 759

💡 The perfect combo to:
✔️ Cast large soft baits efficiently
✔️ Stay in control with big fish
✔️ Maximize strike detection at long distance

A solid pike confirming the efficiency of a precise approach and powerful gear.

🎯 TECHNICAL APPROACH – PIKE IN CALM WATER

With Didier, classic yet demanding conditions: flat calm lake, fish spotted at distance 👀
Pike located around 30 m, engaged and triggered at 20 m.

Fish holding in 8 m of water. On the very first pass, immediate reaction: it quickly rises to 6 m… slight acceleration, then strike ⚡🐊

👉 Reading fish behavior + precise lure control = key to success.

⚙️ Setup: • Rod: X1C 722 EXH
• Reel: X 200 HD
• Lure: Fat Rockvibe 6" color Magic
• Jig head: Screw Head 50 g

A perfect example showing that clean presentation and attention to fish reaction can make everything happen in seconds.

Une ouverture plutôt compliquée tant par la météo que par les débits. Il fut donc nécessaire d’insister et de pêcher creux, une ondulante s’imposait.
